   We just had dinner with friends to celebrate the holidays. This was our first time here and the place is beautiful and sophisticated. Our waiter was nicely attentive and he helped us pick out a very nice Cote du Rhône red wine. As well, the mezze appetizer was nice with a wonderful bread! However, our dinner meal was mostly a miss. The chicken dish was quite unpalatable and two people on our table left most of it. Two others ordered the monkfish and that was nice flavored with a wonderful lentils base. My fish was mostly bone, so it felt rather skimpy on the protein. Finally we also ordered a side of broccolini but the dish had two small heads and 6 pieces of stalk underneath. I don’t expect this from a restaurant of this caliber.

   We had a date reservation for a table for 2 and were sat at a table for 4. We ordered 2 main dishes each, but one dish came out 20 mins ahead of the other. They gave us small, complimentary servings of cava to help bide time, but 20 mins of waiting with one dish on the table so we could eat our meal together far from ideal. I had a delicious, bone-in monk fish which took 40 mins to prepare, however the bone occupied 50% of the dish, and the actual meat of the fish was sparse. It was scrumptious, just very little to eat. The chocolate mousse was delicious. All in all, flavors were solid, timing of meals to table was a fail, and generally details were not buttoned up. At $50+ a person, I expected a better overall experience.

   We were excited to try LeTour. 1st issue - given table next to the bathrooms (for 2), requested a change, then given a table in main dining room in a walkway, which was continuously bumped by servers, until we moved the table ourselves. Table very wobbly and needed to be stabilized. Waiter was very nice, but things went downhill after placing our drink and dinner orders. Husband requested a Salad for his entree after the shared appetizer. Both arrived together. Removed the salad with apologies. Requested continuously for bread and a refill on the wine, which took 15-20 minutes to receive. My dinner arrived, but a no show dinner (the aforementioned Salad) for my husband. I ate 2/3 of my dinner before my husband's arrived. Apologies from the manager, Kathleen, helped and an offer of dessert on the house. A very beautiful restaurant that left us so disappointed. Evanston has lost so many fine restaurants over the last half dozen years, so we were excited to see one of this quality. We will attempt it one more time and hope for a better experience

   We celebrated our daughters' December birthdays at Le Tour. The ambience, service and food were all excellent. We shared Mezza platter and Duck liver mousse appetizers - they didn't last long - very tasty. For entrees we had two of the Moroccan specialties - chicken tagine and seafood tagine. Flavorful and the portions were generous. We shared a couple of the mousse desserts - also excellent. Highly recommended.

   The got my wife’s meal wrong and then didn’t quite correct it. In essence she ordered the steak frites and they gave her the ny strip. The waiter came and we told him about the mistake. He said they would fix it and adjust the bill. My wife didn’t eat the ny strip because she thought they were putting in a steak frites. After about 15 min the waiter came back and when we asked about the timing of the steak frites he told us they didn’t puy in a steak frites order. They didn’t make a steak frites because “they weren’t clear” that she wanted them to make one after telling them about the mistake. At that point it was too late as we had plans, so she ate the ny strip. It was tough and chewy, mediocre at best. In the end, they charged us for a steak frites instead of a ny strip but didn’t comp her meal like any other restaurant would do. She did not enjoy her meal. We wont go back.

   Lovely evening, great value to arrive at 5pm for happy hour and ease into dinner! Attentive and friendly service. We will return! (Wish I could remember our server’s name, he was perfect!)

   The food was excellent. The service was topnotch. Beautiful and warm ambience. A little pricey but not unexpected for a restaurant of the calibre. Altogether, an excellent outing.

    Wonderful ambience and excellent service. Food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the cheese board and the chicken tangine. Would happily return to celebrate another special occasion.
