Award-winning Chef Juan Gomez, who helped República garner best new restaurant nods from Bon Appétit and James Beard, is taking a more personal approach to PNW cuisine. Recently nominated one of the Top 50 Restaurants in the Country by the New York Times, Lilia offers dishes like Pork Collar Confit and fresh Aguachile, leaning on Chef Juan's Mexican-American roots while showcasing hyper-seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The airy, unpretentious space and breezy patio befit the South Waterfront vibe.

Please note, our prices vary each week according to market price of local ingredients.

We offer a Chef's Selection menu that is a perfect meal for two. We also offer an a la carte menu.

What a wonderful experience! The service is beyond compare and the food is thoughtfully prepared both in presentation and taste; each course, along with each wine pour, is accompanied by a detailed overview by the server. Our party of 4 enjoyed The Chef's Dinner (a 6 course prix fixe) which we all loved, with two of us indulging in the wine pairing, which was equally as delightful. Highly recommend Lilia Comedor, a hyper local farm-to-table Portland gem! Be prepared to find parking as there is not a designated area for restaurant patrons.

Every dish at Lilia was presented absolutely beautifully and so delicious! We dined with a group and ordered each menu item. We couldn’t pick a favorite. The flavors and spice levels were fantastic. The Lilia team members were really friendly and the wine program featuring many Mexican wines and BIPOC, Women, and LGBTQ+ Winemakers paired beautifully with the food. With how local/seasonal the dishes are, hope we can dine here again soon!

This is an extraordinary experience, and not only for the tastebuds (though mine were leaping for joy after this exceptional meal.) The staff, including the chef, were so very human, warm, informed, engaging. We sat at the counter and enjoyed hearing the chef's stories, his passion for seasonal food and building community through farm-to-table relationships. We also learned a lot about mezcal, the servers were extremely knowledgable and willing to take time to share their time and warmth with us. We left feeling like we'd just gone on a three-hour vacation for all of our senses to enjoy. And again, the food was truly some of the most beautiful tastes I've experienced in my life.

Once again chef and team at Lilia absolutely killed it! We sat at the counter our favorite spot to watch the Lilia team create magnificent dishes. Every single dish that was put in front of us was beautifully plated and delectable. Lilia is a perfect place to take a date, friend, and family. There is something amazing for every human who enjoys perfectly made food.

No parking in an area with scant parking close by. Food tasted delicious, HOWEVER: burnt, charred & smokey are not alluring in food. It means the food is ruined & unhealthy for the microbiome. $45 for a bowl of broth with peas & mushrooms? Shamefully overpriced & way too precious. $18 for a scant pour of wine that sells for $26 /bottle retail? Price gouging. Having a server sell us dessert when we hadn't been served our last course? Unprofessional & not within the standard steps of service. Hearing him congratulate himself on being vegan for 10 years? So what? How righteous! What a rarefied being thou art. How precious & veering toward judgmental of personal dietary choices. But to top it off, reading the very fine print about adding 21% to ensure fair wages + benefits was deceptive due to the tiny font. Seeing the amount added onto the list of items we consumed, also hidden (unless a diner checks the bill carefully), with a blank spot for a tip, on top of the outrageous & inflated prices was very offputting. & disingenuous. When restaurant owners offer staff a fair wage by passing those costs on to customers, it is in lieu of tipping, NOT in addition to it. I've worked in hospitality-- put in many years of fine dining work. I know it costs a lot to make artful food like your kitchen creates. I also know when I've been cheated. I share my knowledge with my foodie friends & they value my informed opinions. Unfortunately, our experience left us feeling cheated. We will not be back. Our friends removed your restaurant from places they were interested in going to dinner.

Great Food, Attentive Service, and High Value Went on an early Saturday evening and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant is a small venue, but it never felt crowded. Service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive. The staff were highly knowledgeable about the menu, which was impressive. The food was excellent, with great textures and contrasting flavors. Prices were fair for the quality, making it a high-value dining experience. The coat rack is a convenient plus, and walking through the kitchen to access the bathroom adds a cool behind-the-scenes element. Also, the cutlery nice, Pros: •Great food with excellent textures and well-balanced flavors •Fair pricing for high-quality dishes •Attentive service—staff was knowledgeable and not overbearing •Strong wine selection with well-informed recommendations •Delicious mocktails for non-drinkers •Comfortable atmosphere—small venue but not cramped •Coat rack available for added convenience •Unique experience walking through the kitchen to the restroom Cons: •Parking is across the street, which could be tricky if the area is busy Would definitely return for another visit!

Outstanding food in a very comfortable restaurant. We sat at the counter and chatted with one of the owner chefs. We loved doing that, and watched how all the food was being prepared and finished. It's pricey for Portland, but we felt that the level of the Mexican-inspired cooking was so high, it warranted the price. Certainly one of the best experiences we've had in restaurants in a long time. Highly recommended.
