I’m in Boston for the Seafood Expo and was excited to try Little Whale. I loved the look of the restaurant and was wanting to eat at the bar which was open for me. I had the salmon tostada which was delicious. Crispy flavorful shell with rich salmon, avocado, spicy mayo, and cilantro. My reason for going to Little Whale was the Lobster Roll and it didn’t disappoint! Tender lobster - claws, tails, and knuckles - warmed in butter served in a split top brioche bun. The French fries were addictive - thin & crispy!!! The service was attentive and friendly plus the vibe in the place was energetic & loose but professional. It’s a must try if you’re in the area!

We had an awesome meal for lunch and enjoyed their DineOutBoston menu. Oyster specials were great as well as their Hake!

We went here for their Dine Out Boston 2025 menu and every dish was delish, creative and thoughtfully crafted. My favorite was the salmon and hamachi crudo. Would come back!

Little Whale has been on my list of places to try since I moved to Boston and I finally got to experience it for Dine Out Boston and it was incredible! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The Salmon/Hamachi crudo was a favorite of course but I unexpectedly loved the Hake as well. Had never had Hake before and so glad I tried it! I cannot wait to go back and try more items on the menu.

Amazing food and the bartender who served me was fantastic. She had great recommendations and easily answered all my questions. Had the lobster spaghettini and oysters. My only issue are the added fees - there is a 20% auto gratuity added and a 3% service charge. The bartender was very up front about the 20% charge and also commented it could be removed if I wasn’t comfortable. I really appreciated her honesty, and I would have tipped her that amount without the auto gratuity because she was fantastic. I have a bigger issue with the 3% service charge; everyone’s costs are higher but I don’t know if I agree with passing this cost to the patrons of the restaurant. This seems to be a new, consistent pass through cost with a number of restaurants.

I read about Little Whale and wanted to try while in Boston. In many ways, it did not disappoint. Started with a dozen oysters. They were outstanding. Next, shrimp cocktail. While only 4 pcs for $19, they were so good, you forget the price. After that, the Grilled Tuna sandwich and a lobster roll, plus must-have brussels sprouts as a side. All were really delicious. With the meal, we started with the Sauv. Blanc by the glass, a great pairing with the oysters. Then we went for the Gamay. Very good. The staff were very attentive and friendly, so 5 stars for them too. Note: they automatically get a 20% tip, which might bother some. I liked them, so I had no issues with that. What I did NOT appreciate, and found a bit obnoxious, was the additional $7 operations fee. What? I am not in charge of paying for your staff's healthcare or whatever it is this is for. That was just over the top in my estimation.

Great time at Little Whale! Oysters and crudo were delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed our wine and the main course too. Great atmosphere on the cozy 2nd floor. Will be back!
