Located in the very centre of Manchester’s Chinatown is Little Yang Sing, considered by many to be the best traditional Chinese restaurant in the city. With its refined atmosphere and attentive service, Little Yang Sing does excellent business during the day as a place to meet and entertain while during the evening it becomes equally popular with the pre-bar crowd, romancing couples and those simply looking for good food in pleasant surroundings. Decorated in a classical Cantonese restaurant style, with dark wood furniture, plenty of deep red and Chinese art on the walls, Little Yang Sing is clean, comfortable and up to date without pretensions. The menu produced by the skilled kitchen team is equally free of frills, concentrating on Cantonese favourites, numerous Chef’s Specials and a very good collection of Pan Asian dishes too. Banquet menus are an affordable choice, especially for those too spoilt for choice by the extensive Little Yang Sing a la carte.

The atmosphere at the restaurant is clean and appealing. The food is consistently of high quality. It is my choice of venue for most occasions. The service was attentive and most friendly

In this usually excellent establishment we recently had pretty awful service, real shame as this isn't usual.

Very disappointed. No warm welcome on arrival Weren't asked if we wanted a drink on being seated. Over 15 minutes before server came back to us. There was over a 10 minute gap between the arrival of my wifes and my starter. The place wasn't busy at all. Mood of serving staff seemed very low. We saw a lady and her young daughter leave because they had not been seen to. Food was good when it did arrive but mood of place and poor service had put us off. May be a one off as other reviews seem good, but its a shame it was on my visit.

Always a good experience. Manager Christine always friendly and helpful. Very tasty menu and crispy duck excellent.

We always go to Little Yang Sing on New Year's Eve, before heading off to the theatre. We have done this for years and have always had a fabulous meal. So good, that I want to eat it again after I'd finished! However, this time (2015) the food was disappointing, very disappointing. Normally the food is served onto candle-powdered heaters, but not this time which meant the food was cold half way through. The portions were massive and not very hot to start with. I had sweet and sour fish which I always chose. Normally it's beautifully soft fish with amazing light batter. But this time the fish was hard and chewy and really quite unpleasant. We only had a certain amount of time in the restaurant so to complain and ask for another meal would have made us late and I didn't want to ruin the evening. It was a real shame because I think it might put us off booking there again.....

I've been coming here on and off (I live some thirty miles away ) for over 25 years and the food and service has always been excellent .

As usual the food was excellent. Fresh and tasty all served in a lively atmosphere. Efficient service and good quality produce. No thick, gloopy sauces. The quality of the food remains constant. No frills but always my first choice for Chinese in Manchester.
