Resting on their laurels. 15 minutes after lunch service started we had to re select our food three times as they had “run out” of our choices They charged $22 for a single standard glass of Chardonnay Tired of being ripped off honestly. Have dined here often but there comes a point when lacklustre service and overpriced drinks become unacceptable

Very disappointing. Food below par cold buns and salad leaves brown. 2 Glasses of wine tasted sour The waitress offered us a sweet after we mention about our concerns. Staff were helpful. Completely change overprice and not many people as usual.

Staff kindly changed us from a 2 seater to a 4 seater to accommodate guests who were joining last minute. We ordered cheese platter but cheese was sold out and had olives and hummus. The olives were kind of gross.. totally submerged in the saltiest oil and really slimy. Hummus was nice but very limited on the vegetables to accompany it. We asked for more carrots and the waiter forget we asked twice. We had a bottle of champagne and ended up pouring it for ourselves as we couldn’t get staff despite staff standing around in groups by the door. We ended up ordering cocktails which never arrived and when we asked again the order had not been put through. We had them eventually and they were nice but service was lacking. Staff were nice but hard to get attention. Ambiance was nice, a bit loud but it’s a lobby bar so it was fine. Beautiful interiors.

This used to be a pretty special meal experience for a hotel lobby bar, food was creative and beautifully made and presented, how things have changed. breakfast and lunch are very much like any suburban cafe except for the prices. Obviously on a downward trajectory. As evidenced by the smaller numbers people have picked up the reduced quality and going to the many competitors in the James St area instead.

We went for dinner and on arrival I asked for the wine list. To my amazement they had only 4 white wines and 4 red wines on offer by the bottle . I questioned the waitress as to whether there was a more comprehensive list but was told that was it! We left and went across to the road where we had the usual wide selection one would expect from a restaurant.

Hello John, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience. We want to clarify that we offer more than 8 wines by the bottle. It seems there was a misunderstanding, and we apologise for any inconvenience this caused. We take pride in our wine selection and hope you'll consider visiting us again to explore our range. Until then - Mattia and The Lobby Bar Team

The Calile Lobby Bar is an elegant and beautiful space to meet with friends just for a drink or a a drink and delicious tapas. It’s fun, with the added bonus of people-watching from the sidewalk space. This venue has a ❤️.

It’s a wonderful ambience and divine for a drink or bite to eat. The burger wasn’t that great for the price unfortunately but other items looked very good.
