   I usually love this place, but the experience we had last night makes me reconsider going there if not sitting at the bar. After sitting down for over 10 minutes we had not see our server, though I tried to make eye contact with every employee that walked past our table. The gentleman that seated us was also standing nearby, so after a while we got his attention. He took our drink orders and said he’d send the server by. 10/15 minutes later, drinks arrive. Our server never checked back on us anytime after dropping food/drinks off, we had to flag her down each time. Subpar service happens yes, but I don’t think it’s acceptable at a restaurant with food stems at this price point. Especially if a tab comes well over $100 and there is an expectation to tip 20% for service that was than mediocre.

   Nicole was a perfect waitperson! She was very attentive and allowed us time to socialize before ordering. The pecan pie bread pudding was 10/10!

   We have really enjoyed coming in the Spring or Summer but if you can't eat outside, it is way too noisy inside to even try and carry on a conversation. Also the music is Always way too loud!

   Food was great. Server was good and professional, but a little less personable than others we've been served by at different restaurants in Durham. I realize, of course, it's not a server's job to be extra friendly or chatty, and this is often discouraged, and we all have bad nights, but when they are, this makes a notable impression and adds to the experience. Not exactly a complaint, just a note. Only actual complaint is that the parking was difficult. We drove around for a long while before we decided to park in the hotel lot across the way. No signs directing us, or informing if this was allowed. I wish we were warned about this when we made the reservation.

   Solid choice for our recent stay in Durham. Menu has something to please almost everyone, from “bar food” to salads to handhelds to dinner entrees. A number of craft cocktails and wine offerings, but we went with beer, given the number of local and regional choices. “Trophy Wife” session IPA from Raleigh and Full Steam Humidity IPA from Durham were our favorites. We will come back.
