Here at Logan's, we specialize in that classic Montana blend of cozy, casual and delicious. Just off the expansive timber-framed lobby at Grouse Mountain Lodge, locals gather with friends, sports fans catch the latest matches, visitors share stories and everyone enjoys good Montana living. Nice ambiance. I went specifically for locally sourced cuisine and they did not disappoint. Nice selections. Excellent trout. Such a nice place so we’re planning a return visit while vacationing in Whitefish.

It was less than stellar. 3/5 entrees were sent back because they were so overcooked. Server was beyond rude. Front of house manager was epic. She absolutely kept us from writing this off as a never again. We will try as soon as their kitchen gets a reset

We were seated by a table near the front and the bar. It turns out our waitress was also the only bartender. We ordered mock tails and then a salad to share and each ordered one of the special entrees. We were about ready to leave, it took so long to get the salad which was not split as requested. During this entire time, the waitress never checked on us once. When our entrees finally came, they were a disappointment to say the least. Mine was quail stuffed with shrimp and andoule sausage. It looked like a pile of burnt something. No taste at all. My husbands was supposed to be handmade linguine with “wild game” bolognese. The waitress didn’t know what was in it. It was spaghetti, not homemade. It was beyond dry and tasteless. I would not have served either to anyone! I ate one bite and left mine. No one asked how it was or even if we needed anything. $107 later we both agreed we will never return and will never recommend this place to anyone!!!

Maybe not the place for you if you have dietary restrictions. I have celiacs disease (listed on our reservation) and GERD, which means I don’t eat gluten and am on a low acid diet. I tried ordering the garlic butter shrimp sans garlic and was told it was premixed (although I was told I could order shrimp on a salad so I’m not sure why they could use the baked shrimp to make the same dish without garlic?) Anyway, I moved into the house salad which was listed as “greens, carrots, cucumber, pepitas and croutons”. I asked for no croutons and added a naked chicken breast — specifying that I can’t do spices or even black pepper. The salad came out with pickled onions and bell pepper, but no carrots. I can’t eat bell peppers or onions so I sent it back. Then it came out with croutons on it! Back it went. Then it came out as it should and I realized I didn’t read that the pepitas were spiced. Oy. Figured our server would’ve said something about it after I said no spices including black pepper. She was pretty annoyed with me. Sure, I could’ve been a tad more clear, but she also didn’t seem to truly want to take the time to understand my needs. It’s hard having dietary restrictions. I mostly eat at home these days. It’s nice to be able to go out sometimes though and feel like a regular human eating out with friends. The rest of my crew really enjoyed their food.

The Thanksgiving Buffet was so delicious and so many dishes to choose from. The food was always stocked, and when the chafing dish was empty, it was filled immediately. Logan's and the hotel is beautiful, large picture windows and huge lit fireplace in the waiting area was georgous. There was even a fireplace lit in the dining/bar area. All of the wait staff was very helpful and efficient.

Great Thanksgiving buffet. Reasonably priced especially for seniors. I’ll be back next year. The other Thanksgiving dining options in the Whitefish area have gotten too expensive.

very nice experience at the Thanksgiving buffet. Beautiful views out onto the snowy golf course. Food was delicious. Homemade desserts were fantastic and lots of specialty cocktails to order.
