Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Long Chim offers a vibrant ambiance with standout dishes like cumin lamb and pomegranate salad. Guests appreciate the "great service" and knowledgeable staff, particularly Maria. While some find the menu limited and portions small, others describe the food as "truly delicious" and "very good traditional Thai." Perfect for an adventurous dining experience.

I was extremely excited to learn David Thompson is back in town. I'm a regular at Som Saa and was looking forward to something new. As someone who is gluten free, 90% of Som Saa's menu is gluten free, but I was really sad to learn on my visit only two of the starters are gluten free and around 50% of the mains are gluten free. In 2025, it's easy to replace soy sauce, oyster sauce with gluten free versions. I was told the rice cakes served with the pork contain Gluten Too which is crazy because I've had the rice cakes without. Our food was also tepid which meant in the A/C our food quickly became stone cold. It's easy as a customer to complain about all these things but I know how hard the chefs work and it's sad for their hard work to fail due to a silly error like temperature. I also felt the menu was not as value for money as Som Saa but to be fair Long Chim is in the West End with much higher rent (I imagine). If they could make these changes (with relative ease) I would come back all the time as the food is tasty and refreshingly different.

The food was so salty. Portion was tiny for the price. Not recommended

A big fan of David Thompson from the Nahm days. This didn't live up to that standard - I knew this was casual but the aubergine seemed deepfried, greens were mostly potatoes and noodles, sticky sweet noodles with almost everything... the monkfish was the standout dish but the overall food experience was dragged down by the rest.

Long chim is an absolutely spot to visit! Swerve the tourist traps 500 meters away and indulge in the real deal thai food experience, by far the best thai restaurant in the west end.

I enjoyed the meal but …. one of the reasons I wanted to go was because I saw David Thompson (Head chef/owner) on TV. However the dish he made on the programme wasn’t on the menu and I was disappointed by this.

Best Thai in London … and equal if not better to their Sydney restaurant … so good to have you in Chinatown Long Chim. Squid starter and monkfish curry stand out dishes for us! And Lychee martinis were spot on! Fantastic meal can’t wait to return.

I am an expat living in Thailand, and can say that this was the best Thai meal I've ever had in London!
