We came to visit San Diego for a quick long weekend and I’m still thinking about the amazing food at Louisiana Purchase. It’s rare to have perfectly great service, food and ambiance in one place. This is the type of restaurant that would make me come back to visit just to experience it all over again.

food was average best was the biscuits the music was very annoying it was repetitive and the catfish was delicious but everything sub par sweet potatoes too sweet didn't taste fresh

The staff was absolutely so friendly. Lucas, our waiter was so knowledgeable about the menu. Every single food item we ordered was absolutely delicious, and in my opinion leftovers the next day or even better. Definitely will be returning with friends, great food and ambience.

Drove down from Los Angeles for a day trip with my best friend. She suggested this place and had been before. She ordered the fried Catfish dish. I didn’t know what to order but decided on the Rasta Pasta. SO good. Exceptional. It was a little busy so the service was a little slow but an apology came with it. Drinks took a minute. Food followed shortly afterwards. Maybe our waiter saw us enjoying our food and therefore didn’t ask how’s the food or if we needed anything. But I will say overall I would totally come back again and bring others. Great ambiance too !

We dined on 1/31/25 for a birthday celebration, which I mentioned prior to seating. During the dinner, there was no acknowledgment of the birthday. There was greater than a 45 minute delay for our dinner. The server did apologize for the kitchen delay. After waiting that extended time, all 3 dinners came out at separate times which was frustrating. We all couldn’t eat at the same time. The shrimp & grits, gumbo, & fried chicken wings were average at best. We asked for a dessert order to be placed after we finally started eating dinner, and the server never placed the order. Unfortunately, this restaurant was an overall disappointment.
