I had high hopes for Louix Louis when my husband and I dined there this weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday. I had been eagerly anticipating this visit for months, especially to try their iconic chocolate cake. Unfortunately, from the moment we entered, the experience fell short of expectations. Despite noting the occasion in our reservation and mentioning it to the hostess upon arrival, my birthday was never acknowledged. This set the tone for the evening, which was marked by poor service and a lack of attention to detail. Our server barely checked on us throughout our nearly two-hour dinner, coming by only once after we received our meals. We had to flag down someone else just to order dessert, as our server was nowhere to be found. When the dessert finally arrived, the lack of care was glaring. The chocolate cake—a focal point of our visit—was unceremoniously placed on the table by a staff member who quickly walked away. I couldn’t help but notice other patrons being given a far better experience: their servers cut the cake into smaller pieces, explained the dessert, and even offered to take photos. None of this was extended to us. By this point, I was so disheartened that I decided to leave and return to our hotel while my husband stayed behind to settle the bill. After months of anticipation, the night was a profound disappointment. The lack of service and attention ruined what should have been a memorable birthday dinner. For the steep prices and reputation, I expected so much more. I cannot recommend Louix Louis and will not be returning.

I won't go back. Didn't get our first drink until 30 mins after being seated. Slow service, drinks and food were bad, particularly at this price point. Table of 6 and we all ordered different meals, every person was unimpressed.

Service wasn’t that great - we had to flag server down and still they didn’t attend to us right away. And there were many flies flying around the table which was very strange. Otherwise food was good.

Service and quality has gone down - I’ve dined at Louix Louis a few times and our dinner last night was a bit disappointing. While the restaurant was beautiful as always, the service was slow and not to the high standards that it should be with the pricing and ‘st Regis name’. For example: appetizer plates were not cleared before dinner plates were placed down (making it very crowded) and no new cutlery was provided from course to course - not even a steak knife put down for my steak. All the plates were put down to the wrong person (we were a table of 4) which again felt strange for a high end restaurant. Food was a little bland as well, nothing special! For the money and the expectations, it was a let down based on service and food quality.

Went for the royal brunch for my birthday. We loved the welcome mimosas. All the dishes were great. The steak was done perfectly.

I was extremely disappointed with our experience at Louix Louis. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our 6th anniversary, excited for what we thought would be a memorable dinner. Unfortunately, the evening was far from what we had hoped for. We ordered the steak frites, and the steak was completely unseasoned. It lacked flavor, and for a high-end restaurant, this was unacceptable. We also both ordered water, assuming it was tap water and complimentary. However, when we received the bill, we were shocked to see a charge of $18 for water. At no point did the waitress inform us that we would be charged for it. To make matters worse, we were looking forward to trying the famous King’s Cake, thinking that it might be offered as a celebratory gesture since we were there for such a special occasion. However, when we asked about it, we found out it was $55! While we understand that premium desserts come at a cost, the lack of communication and overall attitude made the experience feel impersonal and transactional. What was meant to be a special evening left us feeling disappointed and frustrated. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected better service, better food, and better attention to detail. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Louix Louis and would not return.

Louix Louis is an absolutely outstanding dining experience. The atmosphere, the service, the amazingly prepared cocktails, and of course the food (taste and presentation) - everything is second to none. You can’t go wrong here.

Had a great evening, food was fabulous the restaurant is gorgeous however the one thing we weren’t thrilled with, we were a party of six asked before we started to order to have separate bills per couple, server said of course but when it came time for the bill he said he couldn’t do that. I assume because it was an automatic 18% gratuity on tables of 6 or more, its too bad because we all said we would have tipped more than 18% but because he said yes and then waited until we asked for our bills to tell is he couldn’t he only got 18%!
