Asian small plate classics, Robata grills, sushi and sashimi are exquisitely crafted in the open kitchen and signature raw carve bar. Each dish is designed to be shared socially at the centre of the table and accompany signature drinks, music and conversation.

Lucky Cat is inspired by Tokyo’s 1930s kissas and Shanghai drinking dens. These nocturnal music clubs became the playground of the urban youth seeking all things extravagant, new and cutting edge: illegal jazz music, late night banned dancing, rare whiskeys and indulgent street food.

Price for the sushi is high. I have had better for sure. Sushi came out 20 minutes after the steak. Martinis are tiny. Plates were never removed until the check came. An extra set up sat on the table during dinner.

Hands down the WORST ever service I have received in a restaurant. The waiters could not care less about service, the visiting diners or their jobs. I am not sure if this is due to being understaffed or simply not giving two shakes about anything. We initially ordered four starters while waiting for two more people to join, which arrived fairly promptly and correct. After that it all went downhill. A waiter turned up with lamb dumplings, which we did not order. We told him that the order was wrong, and he looked almost annoyed at us for not ordering. Then another waiter dumped a plate on our table and disappeared before we could even ask what it was. It took us 5 minutes to flag down our waiter, who said it was the red snapper, which we hadn’t ordered but (and I quote) “if we wish, we could try it”. We refused it, as we just wanted what we ordered. The whole baby chicken finally arrived but no cutlery to actually eat it with, only chopsticks. We asked for one set of knife and fork, and got four forks instead. Again it took another 5 minutes for another waiter to surface to ask for a knife, which was eventually delivered to cut the chicken with. We received two portions of Jasmin rice, when we ordered one portion of egg fried rice. When telling the waiter, he said “no you ordered white rice”. Then he decided to say that the egg fried rice was still coming. It did eventually arrive but about 10 minutes after finishing all of our main dishes. One of our starters was still outstanding though, ironically. This turned up with the bill… we sent it back as we were done (not only with our meal but also the attitude of the waiters) and they still tried to charge us for it. Imagine! The compulsory service charge came to $150, which when questioned, the waiter said he could not remove at all. We said we were not willing to pay any service charge for the deplorable service received. He came back, flung the cheque on the table & said “I removed a bunch of stuff” & left!!

I had a great experience at Lucky Cat except for the moment towards the end of our visit where my husband had noticed everyone around us got a free glass of champagne for Valentine’s Day and my server not only didn’t offer it to us or apologize for not giving us a glass. A little bit disappointed in Alex for that, but other than that everything was great. The food was excellent we enjoyed the sushi, but the steak wasn’t worth the money for the small amount you recieved. I would go back again in the future, but we are just a bit offended that everyone received the complimentary glass of champagne for Valentine’s Day except us. They could check the cameras and see we never got any. We spent a lot of money last night so I’m not really sure why we weren’t offered any champagne.

Overpriced small bites. Service was underwhelming for the type of sophisticated restaurant I was expecting. Drinks were the highlight of the night. Overpriced as well.

Highly recommend! I stumbled upon this restaurant and was super excited because I love asian food and my other Gordon Ramsey dining experience at his restaurant in Atlantic City was excellent. We were in town for my birthday so my husband and I went for my birthday dinner. This place did not disappoint! The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous inside with a modern asian feel, very classy and chill. We did the 5-course Signature tasting menu. It was worth every penny. Each course was delicious and not too much food so we had room to order ala carte if we wanted. I'm a foodie so I like to have a little of everything if I can. My cocktail was superb. We made a late reservation and closed the place down but our server was super attentive and knowledgable about everything, guiding our dining experience perfectly. I hope this place stays around for a long time because I definitely plan on coming back again for our next visit

If you're cruising through South Beach and craving sushi, you might be tempted to check out this spot. The sushi itself? Pretty good, no complaints there. But everything else is a different story. Prepare to pay a premium for your meal — and leave hungry. A dinner for four, with two drinks and no dessert, came close to $500 after tax and tip. Oh, and don't forget the "suggested" 20% tip they automatically tack on, with the lovely invitation to add more. Now, if you're looking for an actual meal, something hot, maybe some protein & veggies to fill you up, keep looking. This place isn't it. And if you happen to get a reservation on a Saturday night, which isn't hard to do, and they will remind you more times than needed, brace yourself. At 7:30 PM, the vibe shifts from cold sushi bar to something like a nightclub with food. The noise cranks up, and suddenly you're trying to have a conversation while feeling like you're at a club. If you like your sushi served with a side of ear-splitting music and a the start of a massive headache, this might be your place; but, for anyone hoping for a calm dinner with friends...you are very much out of luck @ Lucky Cat. Honestly, it’s hard to take this place seriously when the experience feels like a mix of overpriced food and a nightclub masquerading as a restaurant. Maybe Gordon Ramsay should consider sending them a consultant—or better yet, buy a mirror and follow his own advice?!
