Nestled within The Flat Iron Hotel, a historic boutique hotel in Asheville, North Carolina, Luminosa's carefully designed space radiates a welcoming tavern ambiance. Our culinary heart is a wood-burning oven, infusing a "touch of fire" into handmade pizzas, house-made pastas, and locally sourced vegetables. Amazing - everyone from reservations, front of house to the wait staff was fantastic. The food and wine was perfect. The waiter’s (Dimitri) suggestions were perfect. Mortadello pizza, bokchoy, gnocchi and rigatoni were all awesome. If I had to give one piece of constructive criticism, my husband’s risotto was little bland. Still, five stars across the board!

Our birthday celebration meal was so perfect! Our food was delicious- Margherita pizza with the thinnest crispy crust, the green weeds salad we shared, and the little Carmelo pasta was a real treat with the added balsamic addition. All of the pasta, made in house, was al dente with perfect amounts of sauce. But the staff at Luminosa was, as always, exemplary in their attentiveness, knowledge of the menu items, and kindness. They make this wonderfully historic space worth coming often, which I have! We even got a tour of the newly opened red ribbon space - thank you Ace, Sara Charles and Amy.

Wonderful service by Laura (and a great backup team), plus everything we had was excellent. We had two pizzas as appetizers. Margherita pizza was basic but that’s what makes it so good, while the lemon pizza was a favorite of the whole table. We also had the caramelle pasta dish and the agnolotti pasta dish. The serving sizes are just right - we each cleaned our plates! We had tiramisu and vanilla gelato as well as an affogato with vanilla gelato for desserts. All were delicious. We will be back!

Best meal ever!! Words can not express my joy. Last time I felt this way was when I had dinner at The Inn at Little Washington. Bravo to all the staff and chefs.

Wine was ridiculously expensive. Cheapest bottle was $80. Not a big fan of restaurants that you have to order veggie and starch separately from protein. Pizza was good.
