We live around the corner and dine at Ma Maison for some special occasions, when they have a prix fixe menu. The choices on the prix fixe are numerous, and the price is lower than at other places despite quite large portions. The fare is French, so everything comes with a delicious sauce. Complimentary items are warm bread and macaroons at the end. I always marvel at the efficiency here. There's no room to wait for a table, so good planning is needed to avoid having people standing around the seated diners, and they pull it off. The pacing of service always seems to be just right. There are a couple of rather private tables, but at most tables, you'll be rubbing elbows with your neighbors. Depending on your preferences, that can be fun or not. The service is friendly, not snooty. The atmosphere is "romantic French bistro."

Food was a little salty. Meal felt rushed for NYE - was a prixe fixe menu and we were rushed and done in an hour despite asking for it to be coursed out.

We had New Years Eve dinner before attending Boston Pops & it was fantastic. It was a special prefix menu with a nice balance of options & the flavors did not disappoint. The wait staff was attentive & the meal was well paced. Best French restaurant we’ve been to in a long time!

From our table being ready upon arrival to saying good night to the staff, everyone and everything was excellent. French onion soup? Yes. Scallops and Salmon entres? Yes. Dessert? Yes. Our server was attentive and personable. We’ll return.

Food is exceptional. It’s a very tight spot, so be prepared to be on top of your neighbors. It’s loud too. Service is attentive. Very French without being overly stuffy or expensive. Despite the noise would definitely return.
