Mad Egg started out with a simple mission; to create the best fried chicken sandos Ireland has ever seen. We are Ireland’s first free-range fried chicken joint. The first to truly put the provenance and sustainability of our product at the front and centre of our ethos; with Chicken Done Proper. Yes, we place a massive emphasis on the quality of our birds, but we don’t stop there! Throughout our menu we focus on the heritage and quality of everything we offer. From our birds to beers, we’ve got you covered! Please note all reservations are for indoor seating, we are operating our outdoor section on a first come first served basis. Seating times are 1 hour 15mins per seating.

Chicken Done Proper

We take our chicken seriously, provenance is key to taste, so we only use free-range birds hatched locally in a family-run farm. We tea brine for 48 hours, double dredge in buttermilk then coat in our house seasoned mix for that signature crunch and spice. The end result is the best damn chicken you have ever tasted

                                                                    The food was so nice, but we felt rushed in and out. The staff however, were so lovely and down to earth. Would definitely recommend booking in advance.

                                                                    The food was excellent and fairly priced for Dublin. Special mention to our waiter who was extremely welcoming and helpful. There's a great choice of dips.

                                                                    Food was great . Service was not so much . As soon as we had finished our plates and put them to the side a member of staff was over with a card machine out with a total figure on it . Never received the bill only the card machine placed in front of me and it felt a bit rude . We’re in and out in 40 mins . We're thinking of staying to order some other bits but the card machine came down and we felt a bit like we had to leave . It was a shame since the food is so good .

                                                                    Honestly, my experienced was not great at Mad Egg. The food took quite a while to come out, my friends and I had waited 30 mins before our food arrived. While the waiter was taking our order, he seemed quite confused by what we had ordered. At the end, we asked to pay separately which they would not allow us to do. In terms of the food, I got the vegetarian option but by the time I had received my food it was cold. Along with that, the burger was completely soaked including the bun and completely fell apart. The cheesy fries were dreadful covered with cheese that tasted artifical. For the price, it was not worth it at all and the service could have been better.

                                                                    The staff were very friendly and service was excellent (egg-cellent 🤣). The food was great value, very tasty and the portions sizes are very generous.

                                                                    Delicious food - we all loved it (mum and two teen boys). We arrived at 6.30pm on a Sunday. We’d booked a table and it was pretty quiet and empty when we arrived. However 10 mins later it was really full! Partly because it was the hurling semi final nearby maybe. We had Mac n cheese (delicious), 2 burgers (packed full and yum), the chicken strips with chilli type sauce (really scrum and fresh and perfectly cooked). The chips were great. I had tayto ball things. My kids loved them. I preferred the chips. The balls were like mini balls of mashed potato in a light, seasoned crumb. Great sized portions. We were all full at the end. And very happy with our delicious meal. 100% recommended!

                                                                    Nice Food.Friendly staff.allowed me to come before booking which was very accommodating. Wish there was a more extensive menu. Overall great service and food would advise.
