Maiella, a casually elegant restaurant located in the picturesque waterfront section of Long Island City, serves authentic Italian dishes with a modern flare and the freshest ingredients. Maiella sits at the base of the iconic Pepsi sign in Gantry State Park, and features spectacular city views. Designed by a leading New York City Architecture firm, Bluarch, the rustic space features seating for up to 180 guests inside and almost 100 guests in the outdoor terrace. The terrace faces Manhattan and Gantry State Park with views of the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and the 80 foot tall Pepsi Sign. The food was average. Bread that came with the meatballs was very stale and not eatable. Drinks were delicious.

I celebrated my birthday at Maiella Last night and it was lovely. I had 8 people in my party. The restaurant manager and staff made us feel welcomed. The food was great I had the roasted chicken and I’d recommend it to everyone. The ambiance was nicely decorated for the holidays and we sat right behind the LIC Pepsi sign. I would come back!

Our anniversary dinner was excellent! Ernesto, our waiter, was very good. He honored my special cocktail request & was attentive to our needs. Our food was delicious, especially the braised short rib dish, my favorite. the chicken parmesan was also delicious. Our salads were prepared well. All in all, a wonderful meal. This is our restaurant for special dining.

OUTSTANDING. This was our 1st time here. From walking in and being greeted with a warm smile to the beautifully decorated restaurant we knew this could be special. Once seated we shared salad and shrimp appetizers. Both great. The warm bread and dip were excellent. For dinner we shared the veal parmigiana and the tableside truffle pasta. Insanely good. The staff works seamlessly and not overbearing. Nothing overlooked all evening. The maitre d ' walks the room and makes you feel like an old friend. We shared stories from St Martin to life in general. Anthony and his staff are 2nd to none. We look forward to celebrating more delicious times at Maiella again. Happy New Year!

Hostess didn’t offer coat check. Wasn’t warm or professional. Wine not stored at adequate serving temperature. Octopus, Arugula, Branzino and chocolate mousse was good. Steak was bland and served cold. WTF! I have a very strong taste palate and could taste fish in the Cavatappi Meat pasta. The restaurant Could use a hospitality/staff revamp and training staff, especially for the prices. Carlos, our server was nice and could tell we were not having a great experience.

I love this place! The guys who run the restaurant are really nice and the staff are thoughtful. They really pay attention. The food is so delicious! My friends and I have made this our celebration restaurant. Only one thing, I left my camera accidentally and called them within the hour and they said they had it so I could come back for it. I thought it was strange that they didn’t call me to tell me that I left it because they had my number from the reservation. When I collected it the next day I realized someone took pictures with the camera of the decorations in the restaurant which is strange but I did get my camera back.

Food, Service and room design are all top notch. Staff is professional, polite and friendly. Pasta’s is especially good. I just wish the music was played at a lower volume so we wouldn’t have to yell at each other. Even at a 2 or 4 top!!
