   I would like to have something positive to say about this highly rated restaurant, the restaurant is beautiful. We were seated on the patio which is beautiful. The meal started off nicely with a delicious Mescal cocktail and that’s it, that is the end of what was good about our dinner at Maito. We ordered appetizers which were decent, nothing fabulous. Our main courses arrived, a steak swimming in a tomato based sauce with an odd flavor and a pork chop swimming in a mole style sauce which was so distasteful my friend did not eat it. Despite wait staff all around us, no one came over to ask if we were enjoying our meal or if we needed anything. The server that initially served us disappeared, we noticed him inside serving tables. At that point we surmised that he had left the patio service although he never let us know that another server would be helping us. We sat for over 30 minutes before I called over the waiter to take the plates. A manager came over asked why the meal was not eaten, if we wanted dessert or coffee. Shortly after the meal was served we should have had a server ask about our meal, if we were satisfied, needed anything etc., not 30 minutes after. They charged for the entree anyway and we paid and left. Tipping also became an issue as we tipped 10% and the waiter who handled the end of the service was dissatisfied and made it known. Hope you have a better experience, that was my first and last meal at this restaurant! As a person who worked as a server for a number of years as I worked my way through school it was obvious the wait staff are not properly trainer or maybe just don’t respect all the customers.

   The food at Maito was incredible – top-notch, 10/10! The flavors and presentation were absolutely fantastic. The setting is beautiful as well, although I found the tables on the terrace to be very spaced out, and inside, the air conditioning was too strong, which made it uncomfortable. However, our experience was somewhat marred by the service. The lady at reception was not very polite when I informed her that I would be 20-25 minutes late due to traffic, saying they would only hold the reservation for 15 minutes. Once seated, the waiter never explained the menu in English, even though we asked him to. There was also pressure to order quickly and for the plates to be cleared immediately. Additionally, the wine service was poor – we were served a small amount, and it wasn’t at the proper temperature for a restaurant of this caliber. We left a bit disappointed. It's a shame because the food was truly outstanding, but the service and attention to detail have clearly declined. I guess they are focused on maximizing turnover at the expense of the customer experience. We won’t be returning – there are other places in Casco Viejo with equally great food and excellent.

   It is a shame that the lady at réception told me abruptadly that they are not pet friendly whilst having à terrace, her way was shocking, my dog is à tiny puppy I Just brought to Panama and we are fréquent clients, part of à large community Therefore we will not Come back anymore

   Nous étions un groupe de 4 personnes en visite au Panama et nous avons adoré l'expérience. La nourriture était excellente, le serveur connaissait à la perfection le menu et était très dévoué. Vraiment une place à essayer!

   Fantastic restaurant! Been there several times and the food is always great. The ambiance is quaint and pleasant. We had a table outside and it was perfect. One of the upper echelon restaurant choices in Panama.

   The entire experience was terrific from the minute we walked into the door until we left. The service was prompt but not pushy and the food was absolutely delicious, every single dish. We had the tasting menu which was worth every cent. I have eaten in some great restaurants and this is right up there among them.

   AMAZING!! If not already in your list of destination restaurants it Must BE IMON YOUR LUST! The quality of the ingredients, the combination of seasonings created incredible flavors. The cherry in top is the team of oriole who took care of our every need - often before we knew that we needed it. The entire night was AWESOME!!!! I will be going back!!!

   We ordered the nine course tasting menu which included two dessert courses and were not disappointed. Food, service and ambiance (we ate in the covered out door patio) were all excellent. A memorable meal and dining experience as well as a great introduction to modern Panamanian cuisine.

    Properly greeted and seated. Our server introduced himself and shared the story behind the food. Answered all our questions and helped us choosing our food. We had the two types of dumplings and the cochinita Pibill to start and all our mains were excellent! Amazing experience! Gracias !
