Our menu features a selection of high quality sushi, appetizers, small plates and entrees with a Filipino flare.

Owner and Executive Chef R.J. Apozaga has spent the last 20 years perfecting his skills behind the sushi bar.
R.J. and wife Dana opened MaKi (named after their children while also meaning sushi roll in Japanese) in May of 2018.

With two floors of dining space, MaKi is perfect for large groups or a romantic evening at one of our desirable two top tables overlooking Main Street.

First time diner looking for high quality sushi in the upstate. Found it! Generous portions, extensive selection and great freshness. One in our party is not a fan of sushi and found ample alternatives from which to select. My wife had the evening special roll that came with an entire shelled small lobster. It wasn't cheap, but considering the ingredients and craftsmanship it was a good value. Will definitely make the hour drive to Anderson again.

Our entire experience was amazing. Our waitress was AMAZING. I hate I can't remember her name. We are new to sushi, and are picky because of the texture and aren't advanced into raw yet so we tried the ranger roll. It was delicious to the point we want to return for another one today. The only thing we did not like was the Miso soup. We expected the clear stuff like at the corner spots. This was not it. But our wonderful waitress switched us to salads with no hesitation. I had the teriyaki chicken and my husband had the ribeye. The food was well seasoned, great quality and exceeded expectations. We ended our meal with the fried cheesecake, and it was another win. We cannot wait to return. This is definitely Anderson's hidden gem.

I love Maki and it is some of the best sushi I've had. If you've never been and love sushi you need to try it.

In all honesty, this was some of the best seafood I’ve had in South Carolina. Everything was extremely fresh and prepared to perfection. Got extremely lucky finding this place, but will definitely return.

This is typically one of my go-to restaurants for a special occasion, but I wouldn’t recommend going at a peak time. The service was a lot slower than usual for both wait staff and food. Also, I noticed that the portion sizes are a lot smaller when I previously went about three months ago. I would not recommend the calamari. The large pieces were on the borderline of tender/chewy, but the smaller pieces were inedible.

I would've preferred that the server would have notified management so that your poor experience could've been rectified, I will speak to the kitchen staff about the preparation of the calamari. This server will be spoken to about the slow service. Again, we take this as feedback and appreciate the review.
