Mama’s Boy is an Italian dinner club with a Southern accent, brought to you by Michelin-starred Chef Wes Whitsell. Situated inside Winston House – a popular community hub with live music and DJ sets – Mama’s Boy is the perfect start to a night out. With lively dishes that embody Chef’s Texan roots and mom’s home-cooked Italian food, the menu strikes a balance between comfort and creativity.

At Mama’s Boy, he presents his most innovative menu yet: a fusion of nostalgic Italian cuisine with a Southern twist - a true ‘Spaghetti Western’. Each dish is a nod to his upbringing, a journey home where every bite tells a story of love, tradition, and the connection of family.

The food was OK. We went to this place because the menu said it had gluten-free options, but upon speaking with a server, found out that there was cross-contamination. As a Celiac, this is highly problematic for me. And there was no phone number to contact the restaurant prior to coming. Ambience and staff were fantastic!

Hype vibe! DJ played electronic music at an enjoyable volume level. Shared apps and let before the crowd arrived

Winston House is a nice gem added to the community! The ambience is great from! It has a speakeasy vibe with a twist! We sat upstairs and I highly recommend that because you’re able to see the DJ, omg the DJ was so good!!! Really set the perfect vibe with his set choice! The restaurant also turn into a “club” around 10:30pm. Dope concept overall!! The sledgehammer was my favorite and the espresso martini was a close 2nd. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious and the short rib agnolotti was meh. Needed more sauce and I’d prefer it be hotter when it was served. The strawberry shortcake was a little bland. But the experience is what it’s about here! Our server was fantastic and we were able to meet the manager Robert who too delivered top tier service to my friend and I. We would return for sure!

The food was mediocre at best, some items were ok like the sliders and burratta but everything in general was super salty. The pasta in the bolognese was over cooked, the Dad Pies were basically a giant saltine cracker with a thin layer of cheese and toppings. The Cesar avocado salad was extremely salty it did not even taste fresh. The drinks were great, and I would go back just for drinks but no food. The waitress also did not give us a receipt despite asking.

Started out fantastic with the peaches and burrata plate, then the arancini topped it. However, our server was a ditzy girl who forgot our drink order even though we put it in first. The apps came out fast so we got those before our drinks. The server definitely seemed overwhelmed by the number of tables she was tending to. Pizza was great, but my gf found the shrimp and grits she ordered inedible. Was expecting the grits to be creamy like a soft polenta, but the dish was presented almost like a gumbo. It looked as unappealing as it tasted. The brisket agnolotti was ok. Boring dessert menu with 3 options. Opted for the strawberry shortcake and found it to be bland. Overall, 6/10 combined with the terrible server.

There is no valet parking and the adjacent lot charged us $26 up front for 90 minutes. (And asked for a tip up front!) DJ was playing music (loud but not obnoxious); waitress had too many tables and wasn't very attentive. Food was meh. Definitely not going back.

Do not eat here. This is a bar, and a fun bar, but the food is not good (came for Mama’s Boy “pop up”.) Menu reads way better than what comes out. I could go on and on about the look, quality, flavor and presentation of the food but won’t; there are many other restaurants close by- eat elsewhere and come here for drinks. Also- huge pet peeve when a bill doesn’t clearly note any included service, health or gratuity being included; I have no problem with the practice or paying it, but it should be made clear to the customer what additional charges are in the bill before they pay.
