We were in the process of placing our order with a waiter and had just said that we'd like the hummus as a starter and the beef cigars. We were about to order more when the waiter asked if we were sharing the meal. We said yes and he then said that we didn't need any more. We received our first two dishes and then a waiter brought over a big plate with skewers of beef or chicken and rice and a salad. We said to the waiter that we hadn't ordered that dish and he took it away. The waiter with whom we had originally placed the order then brought back the plate and said that we had ordered the dish to share. When we said that we hadn't ordered that meal, he reluctantly took the dish away. Some time later we were able to order some calamari from the other waiter. This was a very tasty dish and we had that to finish off the meal. We found the original waiter's behaviour quite off putting resulting in our being reluctant to return, despite the delicious food.

I booked the restaurant for a catch up with girlfriends and although initially given a table at the front, after making a request we were moved to the back which was much warmer and comfortable. Staff were attentive and very helpful and the food was delicious. We stayed till late and were not pressured in any way to leave. Unfortunately the coffee machine stops being used after a certain time so we had to move on elsewhere to get a coffee but overall we were happy with Mama's Canteen.

Terrible experience. Food was pre-prepared and came to the table cold. Even when we sent it back, it returned luke warm. Service was a shambles - they got our order wrong several times. And the music was so loud we had to yell at each other.

Very disappointed in this venue. The food was average at best, the falafel was dry and tasteless. All but one staff member was indifferent and unwelcoming. Friday night and they were packing up before nine o’clock and clearly wanted us out.

We had a great dinner, the restaurant was lovely, in a fantastic position and the staff were friendly and attentive

Great food & location! Shame our server was so disinterested & unhelpful which is why this is rating is lower than the venue deserves The rest of the staff are great & have eaten here before & recommended it to others

Top marks for the fabulous location but we found the food while acceptable, was bland and lacking in taste and the grilled meats were dry, and not the least bit succulent, as they should have been. We didn’t find any pomegranate arils in our fattoush salad despite the enticing menu description. Sad to say, it was an unmemorable meal. The attentive service still couldn’t dispel our disappointment.
