definitely a classic JH experience. my husband hadn't been here since the 70's and although it had changed, it definitely had the classic vibe, and preserved the rough and tumble feeling. We enjoyed a very rich but delicious cheddar and potato soup. The chopped salad had an excellent and balanced miso-ginger vinagrette dressing that complemented the slightly bitter kale, cabbage and brussel sprouts. Elk stroganoff was an understandably favorite, and the beef bavette was tender and delicious. We were too full for the fried apple pie with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream but enjoyed it nonetheless. Marty was appropriately attentive and helpful, gave us a bit of the history of the changes the building has gone through. We'll be back!

Great service! Our waiter was very attentive and efficient! The ambience was perfect and food was delicious! Highly recommend the yummy nachos! Thank you for making our apres ski amazing!!

Had a wonderful meal. Wine seems to take longer to get than other drinks so order that right away. Our table ordered shrimp and grits, short ribs, and the bavette. All were fabulous.

Our server " V" was very engaging and animated hence a good server. The food was great the decor was classic. We had a great experience.

Definitely better places to eat in Jackson area for the price. And they were sold out of the dessert we wanted, even for a 6pm reservation. Chicken was not great, but that potato soup was good. They make you reserve your reservation with your credit card, and then sit you at a wobbly high top table. I don’t recommend this place :/
