I have been reflecting on our experience since we left the restaurant. While the food was good (not great) - the value was not there for me. We spent $226 (not including tip) and my partner returned home to make eggs and heat up leftovers. My take - you get very little for the price. In addition, I know it is Christmas but the service was very delayed perhaps because of the holiday and the restaurant was packed (with only one server). My suggestion would be to limit the number of reservations in order to improve the service and overall experience for customers. The value just doesn't match the cost to me.

Christmas Dinner at Manpuku is truly the best way to celebrate and end the year!! My two daughters and I really enjoyed this special night consisting of two orders of the Prime Beef Course plus additional Pork Belly with Sanchu Lettuce, Marinated Chicken Breast and Thighs, Tokyo Prime Beef Tongue, Assorted Mushrooms, Manpuku Salad and Garlic Cloves. I must say that the Prime Course is a super deal at $69 per person and the five cuts of beef plus shrimp are pure quality and tenderness!! Comes with Spicy Soup, Assorted Kimchee, Bean Sprouts, Cabbage Salad, Stone Pot Garlic Rice and dessert…..WOW!! And I washed it all down with four ATF brew Asahi Super Drys on tap!! Best of all, hats off and truly appreciate hard working Japanese gals Risa and Nasa plus the back of the house gang and dude manager-san for showing up on Christmas!!!

Great restaurant becoming one of my favorites. The food is amazing Service is good. Ambience is good enough I will be returning.

We've eaten here on special occasions for a few years and they never disappoint. For our sons birthday this year, they gave us one of the Tatami rooms, very nice. Everything we had was delicious. Highly recommend the Kobe filet.

Life can’t get any better than this!! Dining at Manpuku is truly a special delight and my two daughters and I ate our fill of primo cuts of grilled meats plus all their fantastic sides and treats. You can’t get any better, even in the bowels of Tokyo, and all I can say is we are so lucky to have such an authentic and well prepared table top joint like Manpuku in the Southbay!! Plus they gots my fav Japanese brew, Asahi Super Dry on tap and as usual, A game service by Emma and her fellow crew. Hats off to their back of the house because what you get here is seriously a Shohei Home Run, no need to go anywhere else or visit Japan for the absolutely best Yakiniku!!
