By Renowned Mexican Chef, Enrique Olvera, Manta is the culinary centerpiece of The Cape, A Thompson Hotel. With an intriguing double meaning, the manta ray symbolizes the kitchen"s focus on seafood, while manta, the Spanish word for blanket, conveys the chef's emphasis on comfort. Acknowledge by the New York Times for his "way of confirming and subverting expectations of Mexican food at the same time," Olvera has drawn inspiration from the izakaya tradition to introduce a pan-Pacific concept of Mexican cuisine. The intimate, richly textured space features a dramatic exhibition kitchen and a curated beverage menu focused on mezcals, tequilas and sakes.

                                                                                                          This is an architecturally beautiful building and dining space. We were seated outside on the patio with a sunset view of CSL and the arch - amazing. We got the the tasting menu and each course was fantastic. Creative, flavorful, beautiful presentation. This was an A+ overall experience and we will return for more.

                                                                                                          Great view, beautiful sunset, attentive service. Food was terrible. We ordered the fish tacos and the addition of hoisin sauce made it strangely sweet. Carnitas bao was just bad. Mushroom dumplings were basically chopped up mushrooms in a dumpling. Didn’t taste seasoned at all. The only decent dish was the tuna sashimi. But it’s hard to mess up sashimi when the only requirement of the chef is the ability to use a knife. All in all an extremely disappointing meal. Come for a glass of wine and the view. Anything more will make you sad.

                                                                                                          The drinks were most ordinary (in our opinion bartender needs to go to school!). Food was good…nothing extraordinary. The service was excellent! Drinks and food are expensive not worth the price they are charging! will we go again? We seriously doubt! Overall, we will give four stars to this restaurant.

The ambiance is beautiful, the food is outstanding and the presentation even more so. The service is top tier as well. This is a must visit when in Cabo!

                                                                                                          Ambience and views from restaurant are excellent. Tasing menu was delicious- need to be hungry. What put a damper on the whole experience was the SLOW service. We were there almost 3 hours and even after we requested the check , we had to wait 45 minutes. Restaurant was not super busy , waitress not in tune with pacing of courses.
