   The food was excellent but don’t save space for a dessert. Eat all your great food because desserts are Only $10 which sounds like a deal but you only get 2 or 3 bites. It is really a shame because the food is great so you would think the desserts would be too!!!! I personally felt a little rushed by the wait staff and the waitress even told us she had another table and had to hurry off.

   This was the first time eating here with a woman I have just started dating. There were some good and some not so good things about this experience. Positives: The food was good, especially the steak my date had. We had the flaming Fosters desert which my date loved. And my tea was hot. The baked oysters were good. Issues: I had requested a special table in my reservation and the table provided was not special so I asked to move. As the dining area was relatively empty, I would have prefered not to have to request this again. Oysters were gulf some did not taste too fresh. We also ordered the oyster sampler that had three kinds of baked oysters. As the cheese on top covers the oyster, it was not easy to discern the varieties and I suggest using different cheese colors as that would make it easy. The most glaring issue, which still has me scratching my head, was that are main course orders were not sent to the kitchen. After chatting for over an hour after we had finished our appetizers, and despite repeated visits by our server; the main courses did not arrived. I got up and asked and learned to the server's chagrin, our orders had not been sent to the kitchen. We had our entrees in 10 minutes. I've gone to many restaurants and never had this happen before. While this alone was a big gaf, I was even more surprised that after our server apologized, nothing more was said by her or the manager. As I was on a date with a new girl friend, I chose not to comment. But I was very disappointed that the manager didn't come over to us to try to soothe things. We should been offered something, (desert perhaps). This was a major F-up, but they handled very poorly. Overall, this is a lovey restaurant in a lovely setting. The food is good. But greater attention to the details mentioned could make this restaurant outstanding as it has that potential.

   Always enjoy the wonderful food, the beautiful ambience, and the gracious service. Great spot for holidays, special celebrations, date night, or dinner and drinks at the bar… Marais is one of our fave places!

   Their coffee encrusted steak as well as the shrimp and grits are our favorite meals to order. Great atmosphere and service.

    Marais is our go to place and we go pretty regularly over the last five years. The food is good, the service is good, staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. The redfish dip appetizer is awesome. The pecan crusted redfish, elk chops and alfradeaux pasta are all favorites of ours.
