   I was celebrating my birthday & had such an amazing time. Every time I come to marcels the service is phenomenal. Definitely make a reservation 10/10 experience.

   Bread service is fabulous. Bone in ribeye was mediocre at the most and my black bass had the toughest skin ever. I literally had to remove the delicious jumbo lump crab and all the sauce in order to take off the extremely tough skin. This was quite an ordeal and ruined the effect of black bass Oscar style. The jumbo asparagus was beautiful but I was quite surprised that such a fine restaurant would not peel the tough lower skin from the stalk. That makes a Michelin star seem a little unnecessary. Marcel salad was fantastic but the signature cheesy potatoes were almost like wallpaper paste- tasted good but quite difficult to eat in a fine dining setting. We skipped dessert. Also, the trashcan in the men’s room needed emptying 3 days ago!! Overflow was 2 feet over the top of the container. Disappointing evening.

   We thoroughly enjoyed having Sonny and Cypress wait on us! I was celebrating publishing a book and getting tenure. They brought out non-alcoholic champagne (I can’t drink alcohol) and were so kind throughout dinner. It was our first time at Marcel and they took extra care to explain everything to us. We mentioned that we were going antiquing in north Georgia and Cypress even got us a list of recommendations for places to go. The food was delicious and we especially enjoyed the French onion soup and chocolate cake. Excellent experience! Thank you to Sonny and Cypress!

    My family celebrates 2 birthdays every March at Marcel. Always a special evening with incredible service and food. Never have we been disappointed! Already looking forward to next year!
