Born in the City of Delights, or more commonly known as Palermo, Italy, Marcello fell in love with cooking from a very young age. Influenced by the crystal clear water, the flavours of the culturally rich air and a little encouragement from his mother, he went on to receive professional training from Milan and owned a restaurant on the Adriatic Sea. Now for over 20 years he's brought his joy of Southern Italian cooking to Vancouver. Marcello's is a neighbourhood gem on Commercial Drive in the heart of little Italy set for any occasion.

Very good food, it was a culinary experience and the dishes are very well served and have a rich flavor. The pizza was what surprised us because of its preparation in a wood oven. Recommended. especially the girl who served us had a big smile and was always friendly

Iconic Commercial Drive pizzeria. Large portions, good quality, decent value. One feels like they popped right into Italy for a couple of hours. The servers are fantastic, the service never disappoints. Always look forward to having a great experience at Marcellos.

Arrived at 7:30 for our reservation. Got seated at 8:00. Had to stand in busy doorway for 30 mins. Got seated and saw our first waitress at 8:15. She apologized and brought us bread. Unfortunately we had no cutlery - just water. She disappeared for another 15 mins so we ordered as we were starving. Food took a long time. Finally they served 3 of us while the other 3 waited for 10 min to get their food. Finally everyone had their food but no water. My son’s meatballs were pink inside and he wouldn’t eat them. The pasta was delicious. Again….it took a long time to clear dishes and get the bill. For a nearly $300 dinner - it was highly disappointing. We’ve been going there since early 2000 ‘s and won’t return.

Made a reservation for inside table of 4. Arrived and no table available. When table was available we were taken outside. Hostess seated our group of 4 at a table with 3 seats and walked away. I had to find a fourth chair myself. Food was descent but meatballs were stale and dry. Will not return

Very chaotic at the door, and waited 20 minutes from our reservation time. Server didn’t give us much attention and took drink/food orders all at the same time and just seemed rushed. However our food was delicious and love the ambience.

Marcello's was very busy and on a Sat. night, I'm glad we had a reservation. But despite alerting them to my accessibility needs, we were placed in a seat right in the middle of things and there were no other tables available. It would have been better to be on the enclosed & heated patio or in the back of the restaurant. They have made notes about this on my OT account, so hopefully this won't be an issue in the future. The food was fantastic. I've never been disappointed when dining there (this was my 3rd or 4th time). To start I had a HUGE Cesar Salad w/homemade croutons. I gave half to my husband and we both felt like we had a full serving. If I'd eaten all of it myself, I wouldn't have been able to eat most of my entree. Sadly, I didn't think to to take a photo of it. But did the other food we had (see below). I had the Cannelloni del Magro. It was served VERY HOT which I like and stayed relatively hot almost throughout the meal Even having eaten only half of the salad, I couldn't finish all of it. It was very filling and rich. My husband had the Capricciosa pizza which I had a sliver of. Very tasty. We both had enough to take home for leftovers the following night for dinner. I'm not good at taking photos of food, but I did this time, but not until I'd already eaten a little bit of it. The wine I had was superb! I took a photo so I would remember it. (see photo) Overall a great evening.

Saturday night was busy , such amazing food and service we had a lovely time and loved the food , yummy , highly recommend the gnocchi

We came here for a nice a Valentine dinner and it was one of the worst experiences I have had in any restaurant. The hostess was extremely rude wanted to sit us by the bathroom and when we asked to move she was super rude and aggressive. When she sat us down at the new table she says to us “you have one hour” no customer service whatsoever. The waitress was nice but failed to ask if we wanted another round of drinks and when we ordered our appetizers she said you need to order dinner as well as the kitchen can’t handle an overload of order. I was left speechless. Our Caesar salad came out and omg the worst salad ever if I wanted the core od the lettuce head I could have stayed home and ate it for free. The salad was sour and the hearts of the lettuce were all mixed in. The sad piece of bread that came with the salad was burnt. We were so disgusted by the food that we couldn’t even stand to order desert. When I told the manager that her food and staff were horrible she did not care. Do not go here unless you want bad food and service.
