Sungchul Shim, chef and owner of the Michelin star restaurant Kochi opens his second Michelin star restaurant Mari in Hell's Kitchen. At Mari (roll in Korean), Sung offers a tasting menu of street-food inspired Korean hand rolls, complemented by an extensive wine list and a selection of Korean spirits like soju and chungju.

Mari is offering a $145 per person seasonal tasting menu (along with a beverage pairing for $110) that explores the many facets of Korean cuisine through small plates and inventive hand rolls.

Due to the nature of our tasting menu, we are unable to accommodate vegetarian/vegan diets, gluten-free diets (if soy is not okay to consume), rice-free diets, allergies to fish, allium, sesame seeds/oil, and aversion to raw seafood. If you have any questions regarding food restrictions, please contact us before making a reservation.

*Reservations are available 30 days in advance and released at midnight daily.

    Great service from start to finish and the food was absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend and already looking forward to my next visit

    Had a great evening at Mari! The tasting menu was super fun and creative, and the team here is very attentive- thank you Matthew for taking excellent care of us! He’s an amazing bartender and made the best espresso martini I've ever had—smooth, bold, and just the right amount of sweetness. Only regret was not saving enough room for dessert. The donuts here are so yum.

    Wine pairing super. Even at $110. In general, everything was better than 2 years ago. I can hardly wait to return

    I felt like the current winter tasting menu erred on the overly savory side, and when the format is always hand rolls, it can be really one-note after awhile. Presentation and quality clearly was there in every single dish, but as a whole experience it lacked flavor variety. I did have to remind the staff of a dietary restriction for one of the courses, but they remediated it quickly without question. Everyone was super friendly and attentive, space is really cool, and I’d love to give it a shot again.

    Amazing experience. On the expensive side but you’d know that going in. Food was top notch and the service was excellent. You’d feel just as comfortable dressing fancy as you would in jeans and a sweater.

    My son and I enjoyed sitting at the counter in front of The Chef and he was very pleasant and obviously very proud of his menu. Rightfully so! Service was impeccable and food was just amazing! We love this restaurant and we keep coming back every time we are in NYC

    Food is absolutely spectacular. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. The caviar and egg dish specifically was phenomenal.

    Amazing food and service. One of the best meals we have had in NYC from a Michelin rated restaurant. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

    A solid dining experience with a good variety of dishes. About half were excellent, while the other half were just okay. Service was generally good but not quite Michelin star level. Upon arrival, there was no host, and we waited 10 minutes past our reservation before being seated. However, once at the table, the service was top notch. Overall, a mixed but enjoyable experience.
