Food is overpriced. We had several appetizers which were good but nothing special. Service was slow. People were nice.

Excellent food. Chef and server were warm and friendly. Nice value. Definitely will go back.

Great little restaurant. The food was good and well prepared. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming. Clean and nicely maintained decorated. Music is nice. My husband and I had a good time.

This is a festive place with just the right amount of music and ambiance yet not too loud to enjoy conversation. The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the ceviche and tamal (I ordered it both times I was there). The staff are friendly and attentive and do not rush you. Enjoy!

Quality of the food is excellent as is the ambience and service. Love having this in the neighborhood but for those not on the UES definitely worth a trip. Special call out to the ceviche and tamal.

Maria Mulata had great food including some classic Colombian dishes that can be harder to find in Manhattan. However it is over-priced (mains $30-40) and the service was a little slow.

The food is always very tasty the staff is excellent always going extra mile to make your dinner pleasant highly recommend this restaurant.

Service was excellent. Appetizers were good and so was my drink. Nice portions. My only issue was the Tamale. No seasoning at all. Was unable to eat it.

I went with a friend for an early dinner Sunday evening, not realizing that the restaurant closes early Sunday evening. There was only one other table in use, I think by people who work at the restaurant. Anyway, we shared a salad and some yummy pork belly nuggets and then the fish stew. Everything was quite delicious. The service was more friendly then expertly professional, kind of homey, and we enjoyed that the chef came out to check with us. The decor is quite attractive, but simple - no white tablecloths here. I checked the reviews before booking and there were some that were very negative, but I just don't get that. This is a great place for the neighborhood and we plan on returning.

I have been extremely impressed with Maria Mulata. The restaurant offers a unique and extraordinary dinning experience, merging ingredients and flavours of Colombian cuisine in an innovative way. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and professional, and the restaurant is beautiful. Maria Mulata has become one of my favourite restaurants in New York City. I highly recommend the experience!
