   Went for a pre show dinner. Arrived at 4:30- so the place was not busy and got to have great cocktails. Had delish Lillett Spritz and espresso martini. Ordered the shrimp beignets, mushroom soup, tuna tartare, and risotto. All came quickly and delicious. Mains were duck confit, trout, and the special steak frites. Apple tart for dessert. A lot of food, wonderful service and had an awesome time. Noise level got a little loud around 6 pm. We left at 6:30 for our 7 pm show. Perfect choice.

   We love to eat at Marseille when we visit NYC. The food is reliably good, with an excellent selection of cocktails and wines. The staff are friendly and professional. On all previous visits, we were eating there before going to the theater. This trip, we dined at Marseille on our first night in town, so no rushing off to the theater. Perfect, a late, leisurely dinner at Marseille!

   Terrific service. We had to make a show and the staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive. The food was delicious, the atmosphere classic and inviting. This restaurant never disappoints, and I will certainly come back again and again. It’s a gem.

   This was our second time dining at Marseille, having dined there last year during our annual visit to NYC to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. That visit was very good, and this visit was excellent. The food is excellent, and the service is outstanding. I had the risotto to start, and the shortribs for my main course, and my companion had the salmon. All were done to perfection, and perfectly seasoned. For dessert I had the fresh berries with cream, and she had the raspberry sorbet. A couple of the things I liked about the restaurant was they did not have a laundry list of specials, which can be annoying to me. They also don't have a "diner" menu that encompasses four or five pages. It's just two pages, which tells me they prefer to concentrate on what they do well. Our server, Emilio, was attentive and knowledgeable, and I didn't spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get his attention. If your in Midtown Manhattan, and you wish to dine in an excellent French restaurant, go to Marseille.

   As a serious foodie, the resto was great. It reminds me of a classic French bistro, and the service and ambiance was excellent. I had the salmon, perfectly cooked on a bed of spinach and lentils, and the wine list was impressive, with an extensive French list but also other country wines- I opted for a Rioja, but with all the choices was challenging to decide. Great meal and vibe.

   I love the this restaurant. Busy and noisy but still had that French bistro feel. Hangar steak was beautifully prepared. Edith Piaf on the speakers was a nice touch!
