   I’ve never been to Mastro’s before so my expectations were, obviously, different than reality. I’ll keep it short and note things that I found ran against my expectations. - Noisy, sports bar environment. - Unenforced dress code(what’s the point of dressing up when I could have come in sweats?) - Excessively salty food, from the 8oz Filet to the Lobster Mashed Potatoes on one hand and bland Creamed Spinach and Scalloped Potatoes on the other. - A price point that, OpenTable says $30 or less, which far exceeds what a sports bar with salty food should be charging. $370 with tip for two for Thanksgiving? 🙄 And that is with the smaller portion sizes I ordered, thanks to my server, she was good. I know Silicon Valley doesn’t care that much about fine dining but I would have never spent that kind of money for mediocre food and a noisy sports bar environment if I had known.

   Service was impeccable! Our lamb rack and NY strip and allllll the sides are delicious. Lobster bisque has some room for improvement.

   If your looking for a loud, brash, and pushy dining experience, this is the place for you. The steaks are well prepared, and the service staff tries to be accomodating, but having to listen through a five minute lecture on the menu leaves you with the fear of having to take as test following the dissertation. The wine list is overwhelming, both in selection and price. The noise level compares to a heavy metal concert. The ambience is stainless steel and glass. There is a sense of hurry about the whole experience - there are more customers waiting for your table. That's just our first impression. But it will be our last.

   We dined at Mastro's to celebrate a friend's birthday. Although I've been here numerous times, it was my friends' first dining experience at Mastro's and they were blown away by the superb service and exquisite taste of their steaks and drinks. We want to extend our gratitude to our server, Rushawn. He went above and beyond with his knowledge of the menu, expertise with pairings, and overall with his service which made our dining experience so much more special and meaningful. My friends and I agreed that if the food was mediocre, we still would have enjoyed our 5-star dining experience all because of Rushawn. Rushawn, thank you so much for your time and for going the distance to have my friends' first Mastro's visit a memorable and positive moment of their year.

   Celebrated a great milestone Birthday here and try out a new place in San Jose area...and whoa! We certainly save the BEST for last! Great food, service and top floor with a view! Amazing! We had dry aged ribeye along with salmon and filet and surely did not disappoint! Our servers were on point and dressed nicely too! This is definitely a must place to dine if you're in San Jose!
