A titan of a space, Rockville was modeled after a hunting lodge yet still manages to feel cozy. A comfortable fireplace fills the space, as well as two wood-fired ovens that churn out thin-crust pizzas in minutes. With two outdoor patios and the private 30-seat Congressional Room, there’s plenty of space for intimate dinners, large parties and get-togethers.

Matchbox Rockville Arrived 11:58am for 12:00pm reservation. Walked into the establishment and was greeted by the hostess and a wafting smokiness?! The hostess asked to give her a minute and she would seat us. We were seated at the bar side in the first booth upon entering that side of the restaurant. Once seated - the waiter came to the table greeted us and asked if we’d like anything to drink and do we know what we’d like to order or do we need a few moments to view the menu. I said I wanted the Mexican Street Corn. He stated that the he had to check if that’s possible since the grill is not working & that’s the reason for all the smoke inside. The exhaust fan was fixed last week & is broken again. He gave us waters and peach nectar and pineapple nectar. He checked with the kitchen and informed us that No Food that is prepared “Grill Side” can be ordered?! Not even the BBQ Ribs, Grilled Chicken and so forth! Hubby ordered the Shrimp and Grits - I ordered the Fish and Chips. Everything came out fast and the server and bartender were prompt on water refills. As we began the meal I noticed that the fried fish (cod) was only battered and fried … Absolutely No Seasoning!! I asked hubby to taste it, just to make sure it wasn’t my palate. The Shrimp and Grits rated around a 3.1 out of 5. Our server came over to check on us and I told him that the fish had no seasoning on it or in the batter. He took it back and notified the chef. I ordered the crab cake with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The presentation was lovely, but the dish rates around a 2.5 out of 5. Reason = No seasoning within the crab cake. Asparagus were good and potatoes were okay. The bartender came over to address if this dish was better than the fish. I said it’s okay but could be better. He said he’ll get the manager. 1:15pm - Manager Nicholas came to the table to discuss the second meal (Comped the 2 dinners) and gave $30 to use on next return. He stated that since he’s from Baltimore he knows what

I got the Bianca pizza and it was so good and refreshing. Definitely also recommend the fried Mac and cheese as an appetizer

The fish & chips was excellent. My wife said she's had better pizza. A couple things I really liked: the tables were not too close together and the noise level allowed for normal conversation.

We took our grandson to dinner. My wife had the arugula pear salad with grilled shrimp while my grandson and I had individual pizzas. The food was excellent. Although the restaurant was packed, Rose gave us great service. We will return.

always pleasantly surprised when I go out to eat here. In this case it was Valentine’s day dinner. They offered pre fix valentine’s day dinner for $45 per person! Calamari was bangin’, crab and shrimp fettuccine was creamy and flavorful, the Ny cheesecake was the cherry on top! would recommend
