Matkim is a Korean BBQ Chef’s table like you have never experienced before.

terrible experience！！ Even they closed the restaurant , still accept the booking and I got no any refund back.

The restaurant was closed despite letting me book and sending follow up confirmation. Nothing on the website or IG indicates the restaurant would be shut down. And yet they still charged my credit card $500. That's not a deposit hold, it's a settled charge. No one has answered the phone since and there is no email contact. The open table app makes it impossible to do anything about this. So now I'll have to take it up with Amex to refund because I have no idea when the restaurant will respond to my message.

Matkim offers an exceptional dining experience. It's very clear that the team love what they do and are passionate about creating dishes which are innovative and full of flavour. The food and service are high quality and no detail is left to chance. The recent one hat award is well deserved and is sure to be followed by more in the future. I booked all eight seats for a special occasion and everyone in my party would highly recommend Matkim.

Was at MATKIM celebrating our sisters birthday. Very intimate dining experience. Not only was the food amazing, the story telling behind them was also quite intriguing, a different take and creative design on some popular dishes and ingredients. The staff were also very friendly and personable, adding greatly to the experience. I especially enjoyed being able to talk with them and to learn more about the concept, thinking and creativity that went into the dishes. Thank you MATKIM team for sharing your amazing evening with us. Have recommend MATKIM to many others.

Amazing curated experience, half theatre, half restaurant. It might be South Korean but I'm pretty sure anyone would be able to enjoy the flavours being presented here. There is a lot of work that goes into this evening and any educated foodie will appreciate the craft that is invested into each and every dish. It made me really want to visit South Korea to learn more about their ingredients. Crazy value for money too - AUD$259 for 18 dishes = AUD14 ish per dish that has gone through many iterations before being ready for customer consumption.

We really enjoyed the dinner in a very cosy environment with friendly chefs and staff. And the food (ingeriedents, presentation and taste) was sensational - a true showcase of fine Korean cuisine! Will definitely come back for a new menu and recommend it to friends.

I was able to secure a slot at Matkim last Friday 21st June 2024 with my finance. We are always big fan and believers of Chef Jacob Lee and his ventures since Marble BBq and Kobo days. As head chef said on the day, Jacob Lee is a white whale and we were lucky to visit the restaurant when he was on shift! and it is always a plesant experience dining with Jacob at tue helm. Fantastic story telling, cooking techniques and extremely flavourful korean ingredients on all the dishes. Also, i would say Matkim is one of the best valued Omakases in Sydney, love the amount of food we received and all was high quality. Overall i would definitely come again and highly recommend this to everyone!
