   My recent visit to Matteo marked my third experience with the restaurant—my first at its new location and my second for dinner. Overall, the experience was good, yet I couldn't shake the feeling that something was lacking. While I struggle to identify the exact shortcoming, I can't help but compare it to other exceptional restaurants in Salt Lake City. Many of those places instantly resonate with me, leaving me eager to return, whereas Matteo doesn't quite make that list.

   It was literally one of the best dining experiences of our lives! The service was impeccable, not to mention so perfectly personalized and endearing. Every staff member seemed concerned with every guest and every table. We started off with one of their signature cocktails and the carpaccio. I got the risotto with white truffles and my wife got the zucchini gnocchi. The carpaccio melted in your mouth and my wife loved the gnocchi but the star of the dinner was the risotto and yes I paid over one hundred dollars for Arborio , but it was not only the best risotto I’ve ever had but one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Five stars for the entire experience.

   Early reservation for four. The valet situation was confusing, as the sign pointed down towards underground parking and I did not see an attendant or stand with an umbrella. After realizing there wasn’t validation I was slightly disappointed, however, the rest of our experience was top notch. The Lovely Server, Harley, helped us make excellent drink and food choices, accommodated all of our requests and each bite we took was delicious. 15/10 for the food and lovely ambience, perfect for catching up with our visiting relatives and enjoying a delicious meal. I definitely recommend the whipped Brie and Caesar salad!

   Matteo’s was outstanding. Delicious dinner options. I want to go back and try more dishes. The owner came and spoke to each table. Friendly servers. Exceptional experience.

   I’m happy Matteo is in Downtown. My favorite server Misrad always does a great job. The food is also beautiful and delicious!

   first time in new location; ambiance is lacking a bit but will give them a pass as they just opened and hopefully will become batter as they get place shaped up; food still excellent - a little pricey but not horrible - service was awesome but then again we were there for 515 reservation and they were not yet busy

   The food here is wonderful. The service is outstanding. The daily specials are a little overpriced but the daily menu is diverse. The panna cotta we had for dessert was the best I’ve had outside of Italy. This place can give Walther’s a run for the best Italian restaurant in Utah.

    Nice place for a date night! Food and service were really good! Gluten free pasta was probably the best I’ve ever had!! Enjoyed the espresso martini with dessert.
