    The food was very good, the service great and the bartender knew how to make drinks. We are seasonal locals and we will definitely return more frequently

    I am a local in Key West for years. I made this reservation for my son & his wife for Valentine's Day. We have been there & Salty Oyster's in the past & were very satisfied. Frankly, I was embarrassed. They made a confirmed reservation for inside at 7:30P, waited much after 7:30P & then, they were given an outside table. (?) No Option. The service was unacceptably slow (like 15 minutes for acknowledgement) & people that waited around them left after waiting for over 15 minutes to be acknowledged at their table. I can say that this is uncharacteristic of this restaurant, but, totally unacceptable. While the final food prep was good, this is not acceptable to your patrons. I love supporting local restaurants, but, not, if this is what I am going to get.

    Finally seated 45 minutes after our reservation time. During our wait, the one bartender was so overwhelmed it was nearly impossible to get a drink. The original table they wanted to seat us was the worst on the patio and had been available the whole time we were there. They did accommodate our ask and moved us to a nicer table. But, no one ever greeted us, brought water or took a drink order. After 10 to 15 minutes we left and had a great dinner at Bad Boy Taqueria & Tequila. Skip Matt’s and go for the tacos and margaritas.

    70$ for a beef filet and lobster plate. Filet was very fatty and very chewy. Lobster and sides were good. Key lime pie was awful. I never criticize food to a server (didn’t even mention the beef) but I had to tell him about the pie. It was like a flavorless jello with tons of powered sugar to make it somewhat creamy. Crust was not good either. No taste. 12$. Not even good enough to be eaten. Server was hard to understand but fine, although we had to pour our 130$ bottle of wine by ourselves most of the time. It’s a fine restaurant but I find it overpriced. Location is great though.

    We went for Valentine’s Day and they must have been overwhelmed even though there were plenty of empty tables. Our server took about 10 minutes to greet us and ask for drinks. The drinks came 20 minutes later. About 30 minutes later we asked the manager to get our server so we could order. We placed our order about 15 minutes later and waited 45 minutes for our meal. The food was fabulous!! The server of course never checked on us. Since we were there so long we asked for our desserts to be made to go. 35 minutes later the manager brought them and we could finally leave. We had heard great things about the place and the food deserved the praise, but the service ruined the whole experience.
