Max is an acclaimed Italian restaurant that serves soul satisfying, authentic food with a warm welcome. It originally opened in 2000 in Alphabet City and a few years ago moved to Tribeca. What started as a small place to eat became a many time award winning restaurant and the go to place for consistent high quality food at reasonable prices in an inviting setting.

Max is our favorite Italian restaurant in NYC, arguably one of our favorite spots in general! Fantastic home style Italian, so sumptuous, so delicious! And on top of that, the folks who run the restaurant are the sweetest people ever!

If five is outstanding and four is very good, Max is a solid 3.5., Which is a good score. It’s good Italian food, at a fair price. it’s our place to go when we need to dine in a pinch. We have been coming here for years, and have consistently received a good meal. The owner is pleasant, the staff is nice, and the food is always good . For a star rating I will round upward and give it a four. The fennel salad is our go to, and I do like the Rigatoni Siciliana. They added generous amount of Parmesan too many of their dishes. We will return

Four of us sat at a cozy table tucked in by a front window. Lovely and not too noisy so we could catch up. We shared four pastas, which were all delicious. The porcini ravioli and the fiochetti with pear & taleggio were particularly amazing.
