My husband and I enjoy all the McMenamins. However, we are older and it seems to be a little dark. It would be nice to have some light on each table so we could actually read the menus. We are also passport holders and have noticed it’s dark in most of the bars and restaurants.

We waited for more than an hour for our food, and at least 30 minutes for our drinks. Our server kept us informed of the delays, but we were late to our concert (at the venue).

It was a slow Monday evening with a small staff and low demand. We were greeted quickly and sat but this is where the slide started. 5 ++ minutes to be greeted, no introduction- just “ do you want drinks”. Table asked for water and obviously the server was put off by this and stated “ I will get water and utensils for the table. Several minutes later water was delivered with napkins and utensils piled on the side ofthe table. Two drinks were ordered and again several minutes before delivery. We were then asked - “are you drinking only or maybe some food “ We ordered our food - not much in the way of two-way conversation- even when asked what were her preferred items. Food came to the table and immediately you could tell us that our expectations may have been too high. The food was very disappointing- presentation, cooking skill, temp, flavor, etc. Not what we were used to from sister properties. Our server then vanished without notice and the bartender took over the balance of the service. In summary, one and done for this establishment. From and industry peer - training at all levels needs to be ramped up! VERY disappointing experience at every level less initial greet.

Have eaten here many times, food is always good. Service was especially friendly this time, and they got us served efficiently so we could make our concert performance at the Pantages.

We had a late breakfast on a Sunday. Wasn’t too busy so it was quiet and a window seat was available and we were sat there without having to ask which I appreciated. Food was good however I would have liked my English muffin toasted more. I feel the price was on the higher side.

Always fun to head to downtown Tacoma and enjoy a meal at McMenamins. Love the vibe and atmosphere. The menu is great and you have to try the dirty fries.
