La Valencia Hotel's premier ocean view dining destination, the Mediterranean Room, is a nod to the property's transportive Mediterranean-inspired look and feel. Formerly The Med, the reimagined space celebrates an all new menu inspired by the California coast and seasonally-driven, locally-sourced ingredients. Dine in the reimagined ocean view dining room, the transformed patio under the palms or the ocean view terrace. Enjoy your favorites daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and enjoy brunch every Saturday and Sunday. Reservations highly encouraged. Ocean View Terrace seating IS NOT GUARANTEED and will be given to GUESTS PRESENT for their reservation based on what is AVAILABLE AT THE TIME.

    The 2 ladies at the hostess station were a little rude. I got a text saying our table was ready, and when we checked in, they dismissed us and acted like we wrong for showing up 10 minutes early.

    Lunch menu is very limited. We had a salad which was somewhat wilted and the bacon crumbs were stale. The service was below par. We live in San Diego and went there for lunch to relive some old memories. Would never eat there again.

    Overall we had a good experience. Food was very flavorful although service was a bit slow. We arrived early when the dining room was largely empty so that was not an issue. Also noise level rose significantly as the room filled. Room itself is very pleasant and appropriate for a more casual dinner or special occasion. Value seemed reasonable for the La Jolla area.

    Been to many top restaurants and my out the door cost for two people same valentines meal was $420. Food was not the best relative to other places i've been considering the cost. Also the required tip of %20 I would have offered calculated with the tax in the tip amount which I was not happy about.

    The Valentine's day menu was not very good and very overpriced. For $460, we had wedding-quality short rib, a beet tartare which was creative but not that tasty, a crab fritter that didn't seem like it was supposed to be cold, and so-so cocktails. Dessert and the soup were very good though. Service was exceptional, Michael was a great waiter - but it was disappointing to pay so much for food that we didn't feel like finishing.

    This was the worse experience we have had in a restaurant in years! I have been to The Mediterranean Room on and off for the past 25 years. Worst restaurant experience we have had in a restaurant in all that time. Food and Menu mediocre at best.
