   Upon arrival we were seated, and I went to move my bread plate and it was stuck to the paper tablecloth. I went to lift it up, and it was stuck by a huge wad of pink chewed bubblegum. We asked for a manager, no Manager came over to address the issue just the waiter apologized to us, at that point we probably should’ve just left. Knowing they did not clean up properly after the guest before us who sat at that table and a manager who didn’t care about his guests concerns. They do not replenish your plate with steak during brunch hours as advertised, Even though the price is still the same during dinner. Service was super slow the drinks come out one by one almost about 20 minute apart. Took forever to get water as well ( and they were not understaffed) Super slow service  no-one come over to check to see if everything was OK. Or if we needed anything we had to flag them over.  I do NOT recommend! Lousy experience - portions are very small - service is super slow. - and they definitely do not put their guests first The whole experience was very disappointing and the wad chewed gum under my plate is just totally disgusting. I would love to post my video.

   Don’t even waste your time! Concept sounds great but in reality it’s not good! Probably one of the worst brunch experiences I’ve ever had.

   I visited medium rare for my birthday with a group of friends. From the start of the meal to the end, the service was okay at best. It took our server about fifteen minutes to get bread and water for two of my friends who sat at the table 2 minutes after me. After finally bringing out bread, which by the way was so hard it was cutting the roofs of our mouths, our order was taken and written on our table in crayon. We received our salad and cocktails next, they tasted great. Then we got our steak frites which was yummy but the presentation was lacking. After our check was dropped it took our server 30 minutes to pick it back up, we ended up flagging down another employee to bring it to our server who was closing out his other checks. The only reason I would return would be for the steak sauce.

   Arrived on time for our 7pm reservation. Hostess told us that there were 4 tables ahead of us but could not give us an estimate of how long the wait was going to be. I asked whether it could be up to an hour and she shrugged her shoulders and said it could be but she doesn’t know. Very disappointed at how un organized the process went. The place was mobbed when we arrived, and there were multiple parties ahead of us that had 6:45 reservations who were told the same thing. You might want to limit how many reservations you allow for specific time slots and or limit your walkins. 😡 Needless to say we walked out.

   They never asked about allergies and when questioned where very ambiguous. Especially with the dessert that they do not make in house. Also the manager was very argumentative and I had to ask her several times to allow me to speak without interruption.

    The whole experience at Medium Rare was definitely unique. Outside Parking at the Arsenal Yards can be a game - just get it over with and use one of their garages. From the singular menu (and watching the chefs prepare the same things over and over and over again) to the wonderfully pungent sourdough bread to the generously coiffed desserts to the odd "learn to speak French" lessons being piped into the sound insulated bathroom to the eventual Bazooka Joe parting gifts it was all something to just be present with and enjoy. The bread, salad, fries, gravied meat, more fries and more gravied meat, and desserts were all wonderful. The cocktails listed on the wall could be "mocktailed" so that is thoughtful. Our individual service was a bit slow, as we came into an almost empty room, and watched people eat and leave before we were done until we were left almost alone. Luck of the draw I suppose. In all, a great unique dining experience, but the whole thing had me thinking I was on some secret dystopian game show. Just embrace it, and don't get too caught up in thinking about it and you will be happy.
