Excellent food, service, and sangria, with surprise sangria to-go! Plus the weirdest bathroom faucet ever! This unassuming South Beach restaurant is a few doors down from the bustle. Thus, it is not as loud and the prices and service reflect its location. I find when a restaurant is right in the middle of a lot of foot traffic that they don’t necessarily have to provide consistent food quality, because so many people will frequent the restaurant regardless. This location was perfect. It was still in South Beach, just a few doors down from everything, but it also felt remote enough that you are not competing with giant crowds and loud thumping club music. Pros: We ordered the pork belly which was excellent. We’ve eaten a lot of pork belly, and this one was very very good. The pitcher of sangria was also lovely, and, as a surprise, when we were leaving, our server ran after us and gave us two to-go cups of sangria. Such a treat! The yuca Frits bites with chimichurri aioli was outstanding. Sometimes yucca can be overcooked and too hard, or undercooked and a little stringy and weird and this was perfect! cons: Skip the avocado frisee salad. Tip: You absolutely have to go to the bathroom and wash your hands, because the shower head that serves as your faucet is most unusual!

Went for dinner to enjoy the Miami Spice menu. We were informed that all dessert options were sold out and were only given the option to have chocolate cake with ice cream. This was very disappointing and there were no attempts to accomodate one of the guests who cannot have chocolate. Requests to switch the dessert to another appetizer were immediately denied. Should not offer Miami Spice if you are not going to provide the full meal on the menu. Food was otherwise okay. Nothing to write home about.

This restaurant found a way to hack the review system. The environment is not nice. Inside it smells bad. Outside it is hot and fans don't work. The food is 2/5. Dry, lacks flavor. The service is slow. I don’t belive they could receive 5 star reviews.

Joaquin was our bartender and server. He made us some incredible custom cocktails. One of the drinks had mango and was a foamy pink color. That was delicious and should have a proper place on the menu. Everyone would order it. The food was just as good as the cocktails. What to order: Surf and Turf Fried Rice, Sticky Ribs, Oxtail Pasta, and any of the deserts. We’ll definitely be back.

We were catered to in every sense of the word! The food was a treat, innovative but accessible and, above all else delicious. The service was efficient, genuine, and customized -- top-notch! Management checked in on us and expressed their appreciation for our appreciation. It was an ideal dinner and we will definitely revisit Mehzcla.

Great offer during Miami spice month. Service was excellent, staff attentive. Food was amazing, huge portions.

We ventured out of our usual neighborhood favorites to explore Mehzcla's Miami Spice menu. The food was good, but some of the portions were a bit too large for a three course meal. The real standout was the service team at the restaurant. Angel was a great host/maitre d. Jimena and Joaquin were both fantastic as well. Joaquin also made a very delicious margarita! All three were so welcoming and you could feel the pride they take in their roles and in the restaurant overall. Although a bit too warm this Friday evening, the interior courtyard and the outdoor seating in front of the hotel/restaurant is abundant and quite nice. There is limited indoor seating at traditional tables, but it was a quiet night and we were quite comfortable inside with the very attentive service.

The evening I spent having dinner at Mehzcla was nothing short of AMAZING!!! Tucked away in South Beach as a merge between a lobby/lounge and restaurant, this was an experience worth every penny. The Manager (Angel) was so hospitable with ensuring our meal was to standard....the issue was that it wasn't to standard - it surpassed all my tastebuds comparability, the food was beyond what I had gone in expecting. This place is definitely a hidden GEM! If you're in for a taste of Cuba in the Miami Beach area I strongly encourage you to make a necessary stop at Mehzcla.
