   Mercer is a small yet lovely space. The service was excellent. We were seated in a section of tables for 2, which was fine except they were right in front of the outside door exposing us to a frequent blast of cold air- not the biggest issue as it’s hard to control that. My real issue was with the value though I understand everything is more expensive these days. I paid $16 for a glass of wine which is fine except the pour was 3 moderate sips. It was a large shot of wine. The tomato and bursts appetizer was an unremarkable slice of tomato quartered and a smear of burrata. I’m not looking for Cheesecake Factory loads of food but …maybe enough burrata to fill a spoon would be nice. The entrees and desserts were excellent. This light meal was $300 with tax and tip. This was not quite fine dining, yet the bill approached that level.

   Delicious from start to finish. Smoked salmon and blinis, avocado toast with dark bread and poached egg, (used the remaining smoked salmon on top of that), followed by profiteroles and double espressos. Wish they had dessert crepes on the menu. It was pretty loud but in fairness there was a wedding shower happening at the next table with at least a dozen awkward chittering college(?) girls drinking a little too much. But it was fun and a real surprise to have such a delicious brunch. A definite must!

   The service from the host to the waiter was perfect, while the food was served promptly. The meals were delicious and Valentine's decor was pretty. My husband had a nice time; It was his first time dining there.

   We were seated by the door in which people came in and out. It was cold. We kept moving the table to get as far away from the door as possbile, but did not get far due to the limited space.

   The host was excellent! The restaurant was busy and we had to wait a little extra time for our reservation to be ready. He took such good care of us and was really kind and thoughtful about the delay. Everyone working there was fantastic, and we had a really great time.

    Relatively small, terrific, intimate Bistro with superb food and charming ambiance. It feels like a "taste of Paris" -- from the ambiance, to the bar, to the menu, to the desserts, etc. The restaurant is small, with additional seating on an over-sized enclosed sun room and an open patio (when the weather is nice), so it can be a bit crowded and noisy during peak dinner hours on the weekends. And, service can be a little slower. But, this is the type of small, intimate, one-of-a-kind, romantic places where you might not mind taking your time to enjoy the experience.
