The Merrijig Kitchen is housed in the historic Merrijig Inn {1842), known as Victoria's oldest Inn. Situated across from the Port Fairy wharf, in the heart of gorgeous Port Fairy.
We are HIGH on atmosphere and write our menu daily, after Tanya chats with our fish monger, veggie growers, local butcher and any of our wonderful local gardeners who may pop in with their backgarden produce.
We spend a lot of time on our drinks program, offering our local Henty wine region producers, smattered between regional and international producers adhering to organic and biodynamic practises.
We love a bespoke cocktail, which we make inspired by our garden and of course, offer local artisan beer on tap.
Pop in, we'd love to see you whilst you are enjoying Port Fairy!

Wonderfull We sat at the round table next to the bar, great for people watching. For us, better than the main room. The experience was exquisite, not knowing what was on the menu until we got there. Gorgeous vibe, wooden and old, great ambiance. The staff were quite quirky and added to the experience Do yourself a favour if you’re up for a unique dining experience in port fairy

Nice meal and good service. The fish main course was not overly generous, but was well cooked and tasty. The pasta with lamb was very nice but a little sweet for my liking. The tables in the dining room are very close together and as the restaurant was full it was quite noisy. The owner/chef circulated around the dining room explaining the dishes, which was a nice touch.

We enjoyed our evening. Staff were very attentive, the menu was interesting and the food was great. Excellent value. We were seated in an alcove at a high top table between the front dining room and the main dining room. It is the perfect place for a small groups, very intimate but you can observe what is going on. We would definitely recommend to anyone in travelling in the area.
