   Dec 24th, We had a 12 pm reservation as we were celebrating a birthday. They had decided to pull out the lunch menu and offered a special Christmas Eve lunch. When We tried ordering the ribs we were informed that they were already sold out items. The restaurant had opened at 11:30am and were sold out by 12 pm? explanation given was that they had 250 reservations for the evening and hence the shortage. Why then have it on the menu? Our order was all mixed up:: The main course was served first and h the appetizer at the end of the meal. we asked for pita and kababs , we got falafel. The pita was served first and we waited until the end of our meal for the kebabs. The waiter had described one of the main courses as a flaky pastry but we got a sauce instead. We called to speak to the manager. She offered desserts on the house, which we refused. So she comped our drinks and one main course. That was her solution to the poor service. Also while we were eating, there was an accident at another table with the waiter dropping the drinks. Two of the patrons at the table of 10 were drenched. Waiters rushed in and cleaned up the mess of broken glasses and drinks. We noticed the manager walk up and around their table without a word. The food was very tasty despite the poor service.

   We have a reservation at 6:30 for 4 people on a Monday evening. When we got there they sat us outside in the patio. I asked the host if we could sit inside the restaurant. They told us” NO” because there was nothing available inside. I can see that there was a lot of empty tables. So we just like ok we can sit in outside. Our dinner took over 2 hrs and I look inside the same table were still empty. I still don’t understand why can we sit inside. Anyway!! Their food has improved and the service was good.

   Meso has a very interesting menu, may be we just chose the wrong things to try ? But overall disappointing. The service on a Monday with very few people in the restaurant, was super slow. We waited 20 mins before someone came to take our order - the orders came another 20 mins later - drinks came after the meal was served- overall a service disaster. The food itself was good- except for the vegan gnocchi dish that tasted and smelled weird .. the sauce was bland too. Best were the falafel pita sandwich and the root tart. But all else was meh. It’s expensive, so would not return for meh food.

   The mushroom risotto was slightly warm with barely any risotto. The flavor was also very bland.

   Very nice dining experience. Our waiter Marco was very friendly, food was delicious. Definitely one of our go to places for Mediterranean food

   Food was excellent but the service — what a gong show. Waited 25-30 minutes after being seated with no contact at all from anybody; nothing, zero, zilch, nada, nobody asking to take an order, no idea who was (not) waiting on our table. We had time to discuss should we go talk to the hostess? Go order drinks from the bartender? Walk out? I finally flagged down a waiter from way across the room, who was shocked we hadn’t been helped and admirably jumped in to take our order. Wagyu kabobs, hummus, eggplant, muhammara, flatbreads, shrimp entree, roasted carrots, and NY steak were all VERY good. But all for naught really. Where was management?

   Food was great. The service left a lot to be desired! We arrived for an early reservation on a Saturday night. There was some confusion as to who our server was. Once we got our server we ordered some drinks and appetizers. Half of the drinks arrived and we needed to remind the waiter about the other drink that was ordered. The appetizers came out in a reasonable time. They were delicious. We ordered or main course, the lamb shank, at the same time as everything else and asked our service the pace our meal, small plates first and then the main. We waited almost an hour between our salad and our main meal. Our server needed to be flagged down several times throughout the night for refills on drinks, clearing the table and bringing fresh plates for our entrees. Everyone has a bad day, but this seemed egregious. The couple next to us waited a good 20 minutes for water to be brought to their table. The restaurant became progressively busier throughout the night, but it was almost empty upon our arrival. This was our first time eating at Meso, though we often frequent Santana Row. The food was delicious, but the service all the way around will prohibit us from returning. It’s a shame. Oh and icing on the cake, though we checked in for our reservation on time, we received a ‘no show’ notice from Open Table for our reservation later that same evening. This restaurant has been around too long to have not worked out basic service kinks.

   The food was delicious. We didn’t have the best service this time but the food made up for it . Overall I would say the service has gone downhill from my first visit onward, but again the food is delicious and so is the ambiance
