Mestizo brings modern Oaxacan food to Cambridge. Mestizo’s passionate spirit, vibrant food, and strong family roots will leave you with a memorable experience driven by a mix of old and new flavors. Influences will change from dish to dish with some distinctly driven by Oaxaca heritage, while others will have clearer origins in other Mexican or even Spanish regions.

This isn’t your typical Mexican restaurant but you will find some familiar dishes and flavors that will allow you to feel at home while still exploring something new and finding your NEXT favorite foods. Mestizo is about mixing and remixing flavors, ingredients, and cultures. It’s not about rigidly adhering to one particular place or time.

Celebrated a birthday here. They were willing to make it the best! And every dish was a hit. We kept ordering more because of it.

Have eaten here about 5 times since they opened in Kendall Square. Excellent all around. Last night stopped by and just shared appetizers with my wife and it was great. Have had Tacos before and they are excellent. Service is phenomenal. Ambience is pleasant. Food is great. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing meal tonight! The guac was delicious along with the elotes, tacos and plantains. And the drinks were fabulous! It’s a gem in the neighborhood and will definitely be back!

This is a relatively new restaurant and they are still figuring some things out. It was not very busy for a Saturday night. However, the food and margaritas were very good and delicious. The service was a little slow given how empty the restaurant was. I will give this restaurant another chance to see if they pick up steam and fine-tune their operation. It is worth a visit. All in all, I give it a good-to-very good rating.

Our group enjoyed all of the delicious shared plates and each of our entrées. The drinks were all very tasty and we loved the desserts- flan & tres leches!

The queso was different than expected but so good. Tacos were good but small. The drinks were very good my friend had the La Diva and loved it. I had the passionfruit mocktail and it was delicious
