   We were served by Andreas and he suggested really good drinks. Drinks and Food were both really unique and good. Loved it 10/10!!

   Mexta is a new establishment and you can tell that it has a lot of kinks to work through. There is no valet parking available so you do have to circle around to find a parking spot on the street. The wait time is also the most damaging to the business. It took about 25 minutes to get our bill. One steak was asked for to be medium rare and it was very much overcooked. They did remake the steak and the second time, it did come out as it should have. My ribeye steak was to be medium well, and it was extremely well done. The steak was served on a hot plate, but there was no steam coming from steak. The plate was more so warm and felt like it had been sitting awaiting the other food to be finalized. The server was cordial, but did seem rather annoyed about the steak being sent back because it was not properly cooked. The attendance to service could definitely be better as we had to request more water.

   The service was great, and the vibe was energetic. The food was good, although it took a little long for it to come out. When it did, it was warm. We weren't sure if that was how the meals were intended because the plates were cool... not even like they were sitting under a warmer until they were delivered to the table. Shortly after we ate, we were visited by the manager for the evening, who thanked us for dining and then notified us that the next party was waiting to sit at our table. I feel like if the food had been delivered sooner, that conversation wouldn't have taken place. Or, they would have acknowledged the delay in delivering the meals and allowed extra time for us to dine. Overall, we will go back as the food was good, albeit warm instead of hot, and the service was wonderful.

   We had a reservation but ended up sitting at the bar because we made it in time for Happy Hour and our bartender Elijah was so fun and charming! He took great care of us. Drinks were excellent, and the food was even better. Highly recommend!

   Now with a Brunch option! We have been fans of Mexta since they opened and while I understand it has it detractors I think it's mostly because their best dishes are not the typical go-to dishes for some. Their tetelas are still outstanding as is their Mole smoked filet, and while they no longer carry the outstanding Chile relleno they had at first, they now improved the tiradito. This time we were there for their first brunch service and I might even say their brunch menu might be better than the dinner one. Strongly recommend the brunch, even if you were not a fan before. The chilaquiles are awesome and we are coming back for the vuelve a la vida. For those with a sweet tooth the tres leches French toast was also great.

   Overall the taste, presentation, ambience and service were phenomenal! The best fine dining Mexican I’ve had in Austin and highly recommend. From the drinks to the appetizers to the mains and the dessert everything was delicious.

   Austin has so very many great restaurants. The great ones specialize focus, on their service or the food or creating an experience. The food here was not bad or great. The service was also simply not bad or great. Nothing bad to speak of here.

    Decent - a few dishes overly salty (ceviche and lobster roll) Chicken dish was dry and over cooked Noisy in a good way but do not recommend for an quiet dinner or romantic setting. Staff were good
