It was OK but service too slow considering the restaurant was just over half full. Intolerably noisy inside. (consider using soft furnishings to walls and floor), moderate traffic outside.

The staff are friendly and the menu offers a range of choices. Some seasonal changes would be appreciated for those of us who dine there regularly. The serving size of the Cypriot salad seems to have decreased although the price remains the same. The portion size for the other items was congruent with the price.

The food was outstanding — perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. We ordered the following: Trio of dips with pita – The taramasalata was a bit too salty and lacked that distinctive fish roe flavour, but the other two dips were absolutely delicious. Saganaki – A perfect ten out of ten. Fantastic value and incredible taste. King prawns (4 pcs) – Exceptionally fresh and truly heavenly. Grilled octopus – Cooked to perfection with an amazing texture. The fava base was slightly sweet, as it’s meant to be, and it created a lovely contrast with the octopus. Two glasses of white wine (“Greek Style”) – Light, fresh, and the ideal pairing for our meal. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and would highly recommend this place.

FAQs

Yes, Meze Mazi can be a lovely date-night spot if you enjoy lively, authentic Greek dining. Guests frequently praise the delicious, shareable plates (octopus, lamb shoulder, moussaka) and warm, friendly service that create a convivial atmosphere. Note it can be busy and occasionally loud with live music on weekend nights, so consider an early booking or a weeknight reservation for a quieter experience.

Portions are generally generous and designed for sharing. Many guests report large, hearty serves, particularly the meze-style plates, lamb shoulder and banquet feeds, though a few guests felt some mains or moussaka were smaller than expected. If you’re feeding a group, choose a mix of Mikra (small) plates and Megala (large) plates or opt for the set/banquet menu to sample a variety without worrying about portions.

Yes, Meze Mazi has a full drinks list including Greek wines, local and international wines, beer, cocktails and spirits. Guests reference Greek beers like Mythos and Fix Hellas, Greek spirits such as Ouzo and Mastiha, and a curated wine list that complements the menu’s Mediterranean flavours.

Several guests highlight the lamb shoulder and char-grilled octopus as standouts, both praised for flavour and tenderness. Other popular mentions include moussaka, saganaki and the dips. If you want to try favourites, consider the LAMB SHOULDER, CHAR GRILLED OCTOPUS or a mix of small plates so you can taste several signature items.

Family-friendly, yes. Guests commonly celebrate birthdays and family occasions here, and the restaurant accepts large parties and banquet-style bookings. Accessibility details (ramps, wheelchair access) aren’t provided in the available information, so call ahead if you need specific accessibility accommodations or a preferred table.

For a lively Greek night choose weekend evenings when the restaurant is buzzing; for a calmer meal, aim for early weeknights or Sunday lunch. Guests report busy Saturday nights (and occasional surcharges) and loud live music on peak nights, so if you prefer quieter dining, an earlier booking on a weekday is best.

Meze Mazi offers casual dining with both indoor and outdoor seating, guests mention dining outside on the street and inside near the live band. The restaurant accepts larger groups and banquet bookings, but private rooms are not available. If you have a seating preference ask when you book (outside vs inside) and request an early reservation to secure your spot.

Warm, high-energy and festive, Meze Mazi aims to replicate a lively Greek taverna. Many guests say the atmosphere feels like being on holiday in Greece, with cheerful staff and a bustling dining room. Expect noise on busy nights and live music that some guests find too loud for conversation; if you prefer a quieter vibe ask for an early or weekday booking.

Yes, it’s recommended to call ahead for seating, dietary needs or group arrangements. Guests often request tables for celebrations, menu advice for banquets/feed-me options, or ask about substitutions. Because busy nights can be hectic, advance communication helps ensure your preferred seating and that the kitchen can cater to dietary requests.

Yes, families and children are common at Meze Mazi. Guests frequently bring children for birthdays and family dinners; shared plates and banquet options work well for groups. There’s no specific kids’ menu listed, so for younger children consider sharing small plates or calling ahead to discuss meal options and seating.

Busiest: weekend evenings (especially Saturdays) and nights with live music, guests often describe a full, energetic room. Quietest: early weeknights and Sunday lunch tend to be calmer. If you prefer a quieter meal choose an off-peak night or an earlier service time.

For atmosphere: a Friday or Saturday night will deliver the most lively Greek taverna vibe. For a quieter, more relaxed meal: choose a weekday evening or Sunday lunch. Guests often recommend booking whichever day you choose, as the restaurant is popular.

Yes, guests mention outdoor street seating. Some diners enjoyed sitting outside, though a few noted direct sun at certain tables so you may want to request shade if you prefer it.

Yes, Meze Mazi offers banquet/set menu options and a ‘feed me’ style menu which guests mention as a great way to sample many dishes. Several guests celebrated birthdays or booked the banquet for groups; special offers or surcharges (e.g. a reported 15% Saturday surcharge) may apply on peak dates.
