   Best fried chicken around. Farm raised and huge! I always order the 1/2 mixed and can’t finish it; doggie bag for home. Wife raved about the chicken tenders and waffle. And a bag of those delicious corn fritters.

   We went to the restaurant for a nice early dinner. We have been to the establishment several times and have been very satisfied with the experience. This visit was not satisfying however. We ordered the fried chicken and when it arrived I noticed a fishy smell. It was the chicken. It both smelled and tasted fishy. When our server stopped by to check on us we pointed out the problem. She said she would talk to the cook. Upon her return, she asked if we wanted them to have them replace the dinner. We didn't want to wait for this so we said never mind. She took this message back to the kitchen. It was not our desire to make them cook another dinner. We just wanted them to know we were unhappy with the food. The manager didn't come out and say anything at all. The server was polite throughout. We paid our bill and left. It is unlikely we will return.

   Our food had very good flavor and was served in a timely manner. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Even though it was a cold night, it was nice and cozy sitting by the window. When I called for a reservation, they were closed. The message said you could book online using OpenTable, which I had never done before. Gave it a try and it was easy and worked perfectly. We eat at the Midway Duck Inn occasionally and I would recommend it to others. And, the best part, for an upscale (to me) relaxed restaurant, the prices are very reasonable.

   This was our first time at the Midway Duck Inn and it definitely won’t be our last. We weren’t sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. The vibe is great, nothing overly pretentious, but a nice, laid back, woodsy vibe. The service was excellent. I read about the duck wontons in other reviews and decided to give them a try. SO good! Since we were here for Valentine’s Day, we opted for the filet and lobster and the filet and shrimp. We weren’t sure what to expect getting lobster from a place in the middle of nowhere in central IL but it was fantastic! The steaks were cooked perfectly and the augratins were delicious. The old fashioneds were great. There are very few restaurants/bars around here that make a good old fashioned. This will definitely be one of our new date night spots!

   We loved our experience there. Promptly seated and our waitress was amazing and attentive. The lobster fries are amazing. The white fish wasn’t too good and small portioned. The drinks were awesome and we loved the ambience of the restaurant. Thanks Ducks inn Price $75 for 2 with a drink and appetizer and no desert

   Great little restaurant! Our server was great. Very attentive and right on top of everything. Food was delicious, as usual! Love the fritters. 😋

   I got the fried chicken with side and my husband got fish and both dishes were amazing. The place was very clean and the atmosphere was spot on. Our waitress was friendly and attentive even when it got busy. We will definitely be back again.

   We sincerely enjoyed our dinner at the MidwayDuckInn! The staff was friendly from the moment we walked in. Our server went the extra mile to make sure our date night was fun and tasty. We enjoyed our drinks and were happy to see the adaptogen options for those of us who do not drink alcohol. We loved the fritters in both the pumpkin and regular corn flavors. Even took some home as they were beyond delicious. Lake Superior Whitefish was so tasty. Had mashed potatoes and carrots too. So yummy! My husband tried the fried chicken and it was hot, fresh and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back!

    Great meal as always! I had the blue gill and it was very good. Two others in our party had the catfish filet and said they were good! Corn fritter which is included was a pumpkin spice. All delicious!
