Our Lexington Street townhouse is getting a makeover and will be closed from 19 August until 15 October 2024. During the closure, find us 1 minute walk away, at our Madame Mildreds pop up.

Located at The Social Eating House on Poland Street - a debaucherous 80's style pop up, transporting you back to 1988.

---

The first Mildreds opened in Greek Street, Soho, in 1988, and has since moved over to Lexington Street.

Mildreds is all about fresh, colourful food that’s vibrant and full of flavours. Their six London restaurants, each with their own unique style and personality, offer laid-back and friendly service in a lively atmosphere.

Often surprising and seducing hardened carnivores and with all of their dishes vegan and many gluten free, Mildreds offers a warm welcome to all.

Mildreds Soho is located in a townhouse in the heart of Soho and offers private dining.

Always been a huge fan of Mildreds and have been MANY times before, however I was really disappointed with our service yesterday. We were put on the top floor of the restaurant and it felt like we were almost forgotten about up there. They forgot my main meal, so I had to sit and wait for them to cook it while my friends ate theirs and then mine eventually arrived once they had finished. No apologies were made for how late it was. Our drinks order also arrived along with the food, so it almost felt rushed and there was no time to enjoy our cocktails before the food came.

Went for early Christmas dinner in group of 4. Included complimentary glass of bubbles didn’t materialise so had to request a few times. Arrived eventually with no apology. Meal was good, portions large & tasty although famously advertised Yorkshires were not on the plate which was disappointing & no explanation or apology. Service was v slow at the start to take food orders & no drink order was assumed. After slow start we were then rushed at the end with dessert and told no time for coffees.

First time visitor to Mildred's and unlike my guest, I am by no means vegetarian let alone vegan, but loved it. We were dine and dashing, as going on to the theatre but our waitress, Charlotte, was super accommodating. She warned us that the curry dish was very hot (she was not wrong!) but appeared with a small bowl of coconut 'yoghurt' just in case. The yoghurt got used and curry was absolutely delicious. Planning to go back for a more lingering meal and try out some of the other intriguing dishes I saw heading to other tables.

What a great brunch!! The food was fantastic, and the service was impeccable. Every staff member clearly cares about the guest experience and is proud of the food they serve. I'm looking forward to returning next time I am London!

We, and others, had to wait for our table. It was very warm and very cramped. We weren’t acknowledged once we’d made our way to the table. Menus were slow to arrive. Tables were variously reconfigured in a desperate attempt to move people waiting in the street to their table. My husband was asked to swap chairs during our meal. Not sure if it’s always that overbooked or we were just unlucky. That said, the food we had was very good … just a shame there was only time for the main course. I wouldn’t go back to that restaurant but am willing to try Covent Garden.

Two people in my party of four cannot eat gluten so I emailed beforehand to check that there were gluten free options on the set Christmas menu. I was told that there were so we went ahead with the booking. When we arrived at the restaurant we asked the waiter to check with the chef and we were than told that there were no gluten free mains on the menu. If we hadn’t checked then my guests would have been extremely ill if they had eaten the dish we were previously assured was gluten free. This is extremely dangerous so we won’t be going to Mildred’s again.

We had the Christmas 3 course meal which was delicious - arancini for starters, leek lattice for mains, white chocolate tiramisu for dessert. However the service was really lacking. As in my previous experience a few weeks ago, they take ages to seat you and there seems no real system for managing whne people shown up. The staff seem pretty inexperienced, they were still sorting out the table when we were finally sat, the servers were rushed and were abrupt at best. While eating the mains they informed us that they were bringing the dessert to our table because we only had ten minutes left (but then didn't clear our plates away for a good five mins, leaving us really rushed). Sadly for these reasons, not the gem it once was.
