This "restaurant" is in the lobby of the Marriott Courtyard. It's a large bar with tables sprinkled around the side lobby area. We were early for our reservation and sat at the bar for a drink. My drink came with a fruit fly in it. The bartender was quick to apologize and remake the drink, but there were fruit flies flying around the bar area. The other bar tender was using pretty salty language talking about the football game. At reservation time let the hostess know we were finishing up our drinks - she was very friendly. Once finished, we walked over to her and she was surprised we still wanted our table - not a big deal. She led us back to the table area and the few tables had some people in them and the two open ones had dirty dishes on them. She turned to us and asked if we were "rethinking" -- we said yes. We moved to the formal lobby area to find another restaurant and a young man, I assume the night manager, came up to us and asked if there was a problem (Kudos to the hostess letting him know). I explained what happened he said " I'm sorry" and walked away. No attempt to fix the problem - just walked away.

We went for Black Restaurant Week and had a wonder time! The menu they curated was very good. We ordered the devil eggs and flat bread for appetizers. Both were delicious. For the main course we ordered the Salmon and Pasta were amazing as well as the blueberry cobble! Derrick, our server was very informed and was able to assist us with ordering. He was very friendly and attened to us with impeccable service. We will be coming back!

Ick. Just a blah hotel bar with awful service. I had higher hopes.

The food was really good. I had the biscuits with egg and cheese, with chicken tenders and cajun gravy. Yummy!

Don’t order the Fig and prosciutto flatbread! No fig. Flatbread undercooked. My colleague had a cradle salad which fared a bit better. Service so-so.

Booked Easter brunch. Good food but no ambiance was created for the event. But overall they did okay.

I want to ensure that the waitress who served us is not blamed for our disappointing experience at the restaurant we visited in Washington D.C. I have been a regular customer at this venue and I usually have a great time there. However, this time was different. When I tried to order the cajun chicken and biscuits, the waitress went to check if it was available and came back saying it was. But then she returned and told me that the chef said it was not available due to the breakfast rush. I was disappointed, but I let it go. I also asked if the chef could make more biscuits, but the waitress told me that the chef said no. Later, the manager came out and said there was only one biscuit left, and we were okay with that. When the food arrived, we noticed that the biscuits were missing, so we asked the waitress about them. She told us that the chef had thrown them away because he was annoyed that we kept asking for them. This was unprofessional and petty behavior, and it made us lose our appetite. We are not upset about the biscuits themselves, but about the way the kitchen staff treated us. We were happy with the waitress, who was very professional and courteous throughout our meal. We tipped her well. I was disappointed that a restaurant that celebrates black culture and cuisine would treat its customers this way. I hope that they will change their behavior and become more professional in the future. Refusing to make new food simply because the restaurant is about to close is not acceptable. As a person of color, I find this behavior particularly disappointing. I hope that they will do better.

Not worth the price, food was mediocre. Wish I had tried another breakfast restaurant in the area.

Great server, very knowledgeable. Good was fantastic. Wasn’t aware prior it was high top bar tables, kinda loud, but otherwise nice experience.

I hesitated to go to this location because it was in a hotel, but service and food were awesome! 😊
