Our head chef Andrew Campbell fuses contemporary and traditional British cooking and adds an appealing local twist. Andrew carefully selects the best regional, seasonal ingredients, while supporting British farmers, fishermen and artisan producers.

The restaurant itself has handsome vaulted ceilings and original oak beams, a classic look that’s complemented by a modern, easy-going ambience. The dining room was cold when we arrived (19:30). The car park is badly lit and it wasn't at all clear how to get from the car park to the restaurant. More signs are needed. The food was first class.

The menu didn’t give much choice so very limited what we got to order ..Food was very good but a little over priced .. Service was excellent

I had booked a lunch in the Minster Mill Restaurant for my Wife's Birthday. We booked it last week because the restaurant was Michelin Recommended. When we arrived, we were met by a Lady who really struggled with English. We had to repeat ourselves multiple times to get her to understand. She couldn't find our reservation and when she handed me the list of reservations our name was clearly visible on the list ! We were shown to our table but the follow on order taking was very slow. We were not asked if we wanted starters and I asked if we needed any side dishes and were advised not, as the dish we had ordered - Sea Bream had potatoes with it. When the fish arrived it was extremely tough and chewy. Maybe it had been over cooked or as my Wife thought, it may have been cooked earlier and re heated. Unfortunately there was no one around to ask to take it back to the kitchen so we struggled on with it. Eventually a young waiter arrived and we pointed out there were no potatoes with the dish. She said she was happy to order us some fries. Unfortunately these were never delivered before we finished the meal. We decided not to order any deserts because of the slow service and the fact the main course was so bad, so we got up to leave and paid on the way out. We mentioned to the waitress about how bad the meal was and the fact we had never received our fries. She did apologise however she continued to charge us the full amount for the meal which was £78.10 for two Sea Breams plus two non alcoholic drinks. I was never shown the breakdown but I suspect I was also charged gratuity given the size of the amount. Overall we were very disappointed and cant understand why this is a Michelin Recommended restaurant.

Recently redecorated venue. Previously medieval cotswold charm, with comfortable leather sofas. Replaced with modern low budget decor and furniture. Could be in a travelodge. The afternoon tea was disappointing - scones good, but instead of jam some strange whisked concoction. Cakes greasy and lacking flavour - sandwiches a bit bland. Tea selection poor. Service friendly but odd. Wore sunglasses indoors. £35 each a bit steep. What a shame. This place used to be great.

Food was absolutely amazing! My friend and I had afternoon tea and they had no trouble at all catering for me as I needed gluten free. The service was a little slow, we waited half an hour before our food came and a while to pay at the end but the food more than made up for it. Would definitely return for another afternoon tea as it was probably the best gluten free I’ve ever had.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! Booked an October spa retreat here in advance and on arrival, after travelling all the way from London, I was turned away as they had messed up their booking system and over-booked the spa. I had to return all the way to London without any spa services and with a weekend away with my girlfriend completely ruined. When I subsequently complained, I was arrogantly told they could not offer me any compensation and they also lied that I had received complementary drinks. They even implied I had fabricated the events to cover up their own SHOCKLINGLY AWFUL service. This was the worst customer service I have received from a hotel and the manager, Beverley Molmans, was exceptionally rude and unprofessional in handling my complaint. I strongly urge you to avoid this TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE hotel and restaurant.

We chose to stay at the Old Swan and Minster to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were very pleased with the offer which was even better when we our room was upgraded to a suite. This room and facilities were very high quality and spacious. The staff were very welcoming, keen to help and kept all areas immaculate. The setting is delightful - lovely place to rest and relax, especially when the weather is warm. We will definitely return, just hope the weather is as good next time.

We were expecting a really good meal here but it was extremely disappointing. There was a weeding on so we think that took priority but if the hotel cannot cope with a wedding and dinner guests then the hotel should close for the wedding. We had to go elsewhere for dessert as there was nothing at all on the menu that we wanted to try. A very disappointing evening.

Beautifully situated and very peaceful. We like the idea of being dog friendly. Have stayed here in the past and eaten with you several times, all thoroughly enjoyable. The last visit however was spoiled by the slow service outside from the younger members of staff. We had driven from Bournemouth and ordered one coffee and one tea in the bar. When it finally arrived it was taken to some other guests first and we only had one small jug of hot milk, no cold milk for the tea ! When our friends arrived we moved outside to eat but we then became invisible! Food is excellent please don't spoil it
