A Chef Chris Kajioka restaurant that debuted in 2020 in partnership with San Francisco-based chef, Mourad Lahlou, called Miro Kaimuki.

The restaurant is located in the space which formerly housed Honolulu's venerable Café Miro for 23 years. Similar to its predecessor, Miro Kaimuki features a French-inspired menu punctuated with Japanese flavors and techniques. The restaurant is a reunion for chefs Kajioka and Lahlou who first worked together at San Francisco's Aziza and Mourad.

Miro Kaimuki is no longer accommodating strict allergies or vegan diets. Pescatarians and Vegetarians are welcome.

One of the best overall dining experiences. Superb quality and flavors. Friendly and not stuffy staff. And the mixologist nailed the cocktail pairing.

All of the staff were welcoming, courteous, and personally acknowledging my special day. I just retired from the Honolulu Fire Department, after 30 years of service. We were celebrating that. Taylor made sure we were well taken care of. Everyone came by and congratulated me. That was the best service ever!

I've been to Miro several times and each visit has been a delight. Each visit offers a fresh experience thanks to their monthly-changing menu that consistently delivers fantastic flavors. Signature "snacks" like the tuna & avocado brioche, uni brioche, and caviar brioche always make an appearance—I'm a devoted uni brioche fan, and the fresh-baked sourdough is an absolute must, this time they had butter with fresh black truffle. During my February 2025 visit, the menu featured: a snack with Kumamoto oyster, a light, airy biscuit monaka with amaebi, and a fried shrimp head dish that tasted like shrimp crackers. The salmon sashimi, served with perilla, pickled kohlrabi, and a tangy, refreshing broth, that truly ignited my appetite. A standout was the celery root soup paired with a delicate cold foie gras mousse and a touch of lychee gel for sweetness. This dish delivered unexpected depth with lavender and coffee that enhanced its light, nuanced flavor. The Chilean sea bass in saffron sauce with grilled fennel was another highlight—tender, moist, and generously portioned, it left me savoring every bite. I also sampled the crispy roast duck, served with a rich mushroom sauce and a bright pomegranate sauce. Opting for an A5 upgrade alongside the regular dish turned out to be a brilliant choice—the duck, cooked to perfection, even surpassed my usual beef preferences. While dessert isn’t typically my forte (unless it's a hot chocolate cake), I did try the Banana, Buckwheat, and Black Sesame. Though it was just okay for me, other at my table have praised it. Additional perks include convenient parking at the Hawaii National Banking lot and a drinks menu that consistently impresses. The Miro Milk Punch, in particular, strikes a delightful balance with its sweet profile and creative twists. Overall, Miro offers fantastic food with bold, creative flavors and an inviting atmosphere that makes every visit worthwhile.

Excellent evening, completely satisfied with every aspect of this experience. Prix fixe menu, the optional add-ons/substitutions, the non-alcoholic beverages and options, the teas we had at the end… everything we could have asked for was provided perfectly without even our asking. Servers/staff were all top-notch with explanations and attentiveness and warm friendliness. The food and the flavors were such a delight, really need to make this a regular dining spot! Thank you Miro Kaimuki!
