   This was my first time dining at this restaurant. It was quite crowded. Our reservation was for 2pm ; we arrived roughly at 2:07pm. We did not get seated until 2:15 The wait staff and front desk need to learn how to communicate better.. Our waitress was fabulous! And the food was delicious!

   We had hurricanes that easily rivaled Pat O's in New Orleans. As for food, we started with the barbecue shrimp and fried green tomatoes with crab. Fried green tomatoes were outstanding! Barbecue shrimp weren't quite what I get when back home in New Orleans but they were good. We ordered the shrimp and grits and the smothered pork chops for our main course. Both were so good. We finished with banana pudding and peach cobbler, which was also delicious.

   Miss Toyas is a beautiful black owned establishment but the reservation was not ready when booked. I had called in advance making sure everything was set in stone because this was for an event I was hosting. We get there the table isn’t ready and the hostess says there’s nothing they can do because they were unprepared. After waiting a while we finally sit down and the waiter was really nice but not very attentive to the table of eight we had at the time. We constantly had to ask another waiter to get things for us. In regards to the food it was solid 8/10. It was good but it just came out in pieces instead of all together. Beautiful establishment but slightly unorganized.

   Food choices were enticing. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful, and service was punctual. The table was kind of small for our first time but I appreciated the host holding our reservation when we arrive later than expected. Can’t wait to the next time!

   The food and drinks were excellent, but the service was disappointing. We love supporting local businesses, but both the maître d’ and server had a terrible attitude. If this location adopts a customer service approach similar to Chick-fil-A—a fast-food chain known for its exceptional hospitality—they could significantly improve their customer experience and attract more clientele.

   I had such high expectations because I went to the Silver Spring location and it was 10/10 but this location is a little different. It’s not bad but it’s not Silver Spring. For example, the hurricane or rum punch( can’t remember what it was called) was $22 at SS location and the glass was huge. It was a few dollars cheaper in Baltimore but the glass was small, like a regular size glass. It also gave me an almost instant headache so I should have paid attention to what liquor was used. I had the seafood pasta($55) and was expecting a little more seafood than one snow crab cluster and 4 shrimp. Our waiter was cool tho, can’t remember her name. Overall, I would try again in the future. It’s a new business so I can give them grace.
